Center Console Feeling Warm?

Lately when driving my R34 N/A coupe I've noticed that where my left leg rests the carpet feels warm - even when not using the heater / climate control. This is under the head unit and it gets hot on both sides (i.e. where the front passengers right leg rests too). It is isolated to under the head unit, but in front of where the transmission controls are. Could it be the transmission?

I get the same thing too in my R34 GT-T... Sounds like its a normal thing then. I have an aftermarket headunit and factory gauges and the console is warm when i rest my leg against it..

turn your aircon back on, then turn the temp right down before turning it off again

could it be something as simple as your gearbox? i notice it more in summer

and yes turning your climate control temp all the way down stops any hot air circulating through any open vent modes.

this happens to me with my air con.

when its turned on to warm, even if the air con is off - the part under the leg rest still heats up.

a bit weird, but it happens to my girlfriends 25t aswell.

easy solution is to just turn the air con down every time before turning it off.
