ill have to agree with you on this one...

hes right chris...

saying what you said before about "buying a car like this is not for driving like a grandma" <-- this is what causes death on the roads... and not just that... f**k up other peoples wellbeing due to stupidity.

Driving is pretty serious..... to alot of people its NOTHING to them.....speed.... cut through traffic.... race.... etc etc. but anything can cause harm to others.

Ive went through a phase a few years ago... took on Motorcycle riding.

i must say, learning how to ride really made me a Better driver... i learned many valuable lessons. and i really Recommend every driver on the road to take on motorcycle riding just as an experience and learn about safety.

for e.g...

*at a round about.. people just speed through... when your on a bike... i always STOP.. even for the people that are suppose to give way to me... i MAKE SURE they stop...because if someone doesnt stop?.... YOUR f**kED!!!!

yeh man i do agree to.. its not like a drag race or anything.. i dont do it everyday

it was that one off thing WHICH i did think about as it did blow my oil pump. lol

like its hard not to give it in the car you know.. i know its still dangerous but anything can happen in a for laser or something u know.?

like it dont matter the car or what speed anything can happen. i know its dangerous . i made sure no one else was there and it lasted 8 seconds.

*Blind spots... drivers never give 2 shits... but if your on a bike... and someone cuts you off and takes you out... YOUR f**kED!!!

So you make sure you dont merge lanes in someones blind spot and avoid being there all together.

*Speeding, everyone does it... but on a bike... should an animal... a kid .. a car out of a drive way jumps out onto the road.. once again... YOUR f**kED!!!!

Many close calls on a bike... even skidding nearly falling off due to wanker drivers.

so all this made me feel that on the road i was very very Vunerable.. any little thing happens.... and my life is over or even worse.. end up crippled.

Now days...driving..... it all comes natrual that i do the same as i did on the bike... to avoid all complications all together.

since you got exempted...(which is a rare case....) you should really feel privaledged and respect it

Of Course to all the above.

Yes we've all done it.

But I believe there is a place and time for everything.

Midnight on Hwy, with no cars yeh maybe. But not bright daylight in 60 zones, and that applies to all speeds above.

I'm all for school Zones, it is a pet hate of mine and I purposely slam my brakes on ppl behind me tryin to speed me up.

Remember mate, SHIT HAPPENS!

You're young, you think you're unbreakable. I use to think this aswell. But I quickly grew up.

Take it to the track mate, see how your car handles in controlled conditions.

Take some skidpan courses.

Anybody can drive in a straight line, but not all people can correct a car once you lose traction at 100km/h.

And by the way, this is a public forum, Police do look through the pages. And you have a thread with pictures of your car with the number plates on.

So i'd be more wise with what you inform us with.

RJ

yep.. i agree with all of us.. there is a time and place. ill keep it to the track :) last thing i wanna do.. is wreck my car or hurt someone else

I don't really care what you do, you just don't get it do you. As far as I can see SAU is trying its best to distance itself from the whole 'hoon' thing. When you come on here BOASTING about doing ILLEGAL things on PUBLIC ROADS, it makes ALL of us LOOK BAD.

The other point i was making is that you are an INEXPERIENCED DRIVER. I've seen the direct aftermath of a single car crash due to loss of control at 180km/h into a palm tree, and its an absolute mess, not to mention closed casket funerals.

I don't know specific legalities, but I imagine that it looks bad if you are involved in criminal proceedings and you've posted about your exploits on a public forum.

Man when you first said that you had a go against the Typhoon my first impression was that maybe you had a quick squirt say 0-60 or rolling to 80......But from 100 to 180 ??? Man thats seriously a dangerous habit that you really need to get out of. Get a CAMS licence and get to the track and do that sort of thing...Not that hard these days....Our streets and Highways are crap and dangerous for high speed. Imagine if a Kangaroo or Wallaby got in front of you.....Or for some reason you just had a freak Blowout......

Exactly.

Sure, you might think "ohh, a freak blowout at 100km/h will still cause me to crash". But odds are you won't die in that crash.

Besides, you probably have an even greater advantage against the F6 on a twisty track

yeah...

did you read in the paper what happend 2 days ago?

Some girl.... whom is 16 years of age.. on her L's...

she took her 16 or 18 year old friend for a joy ride... with her grandmothers Imprezza (unsure if it was a WRX, but probably not) she excceed speeds of 90km in residetial streets... yep.... ended up on some sort of tree i think.... (not exactly a "Palm" im guessing)

killing her friend.... even though under age, she got tried at an Adult 18+ court. and may now face 10 years jail term......

that could be you chris.... or maybe even worse..this is a girl with no driving record here... since your a mechanic and got a SPECIAL permit issued to you under special circumstances from the RTA, for you.... to maintain & KEEP your JOB.............

haha.. enough of this.. have u guys ever seen an il pump like this ?

XR6 turbo's and F6 Typhoons......

the next VL turbo's, everyonee has one, and the sad part is they are doing better than our skylines.

We pour 10K into our engines for intercoolers and ecu's and things to get it running right.

They spend 10K to get a whole package making excess of 300+RwKw lol...

From the few of my mates who have em the only main problem seems to be the gearbox so far, most of them convert o AU boxes since they are stronger, one of my mates has a 2 speed powerglide and the other a rebuilt 4 speed auto to hold all 350RwKw of his XR6 Turbo.

They are bloody quick with a good tune and since they are auto they really pull hard off the line with those stall converters....sorta jealous that they are cheap to run in comparison to a Skyline but id never leave my car! But its good to hear you gave it to the Typhoon since they have built bottom ends anyhow

But like everyone says be careful! haha im on Green P's too and got stuck with an N/A R34 just to be safe have to fully rebuild her now since im comming off Your a lucky bastard don't play with fire your lucky your getting away with it so far!

yeh i dont mate dw lol.. so typhoon boxes are crap ??. there too expensive i reckon.. and man do they brake traction to easy lol

i like the xr6 turbos/typhoons. im a ford man myself awesome cars !!

Found On Roadside Dead

Yeah most of the XR6T / Force 6 types here think they're pretty fast in a straight line, but those things don't seem to corner very well (and thats where the fun's at!)

LMAO.. no one like the fords ?? ...

+1 for not handling very well..i go on to fullboost to look at the media section a bit and at one stage not sure if they still do but there was an f6 typhoon drift car not sure who drove it but he swerved and booted it to initiate drift and all it did was understeer into a wall couldnt stop laughing prolly just incorrect suspension setup funny though

First On Race Day

Ford fan tbh but only the english fords. Escorts, cortinas, capris, sierra cosworth etc are all what I was brought up around.

Oh yeh.. ford cosworth awesome cars. prob only cars that kept up with the gtr's in bathurst.

LMFAO.. you serious?. are they that bad at handling.

my mate has a f6 typhoon r-spec. only 300 made, and that thing has the upgraded suspension in it, and it handles pretty good

LMFAO... haha yeh yeh man.

im quessing you like holdens then ??

well i dont really like Australian designed cars at all......

whether its Ford or Holdens..... The only decent Holden to me was the VL

But as for Fords, i dont mind the American Fords...

The Cosworth was a good car too

firstly i'd like to say that you are fkn 19... you know nothing about life or the roads. you THINK you do and will argue this till you are blue in the face, but you dont. you are still a child, and in driving terms, an infant.

LMAO ok no worries.. yeh they are quik. 270 kw with about 500 and something nm of torgue

yeah... at the FLYWHEEL

if u buy a turbo performance car. and drive like a grandma.. then ur the idiot

what the hell can you possibly say to a comment like this?

that is some of the most retarded shit i have ever read on sau... congrats!

AND its pussy ass B*&^s like u that whinge to the cops.

oh shit.... i didn't realise you were hardcore..... please dont hurt us mr internet warrior

    • Could be. Could also be that they sit around broken more. To be fair, you almost never see one driving around. I see more R chassis GTRs than the Renault ones.
    • Yeah. Nah. This is why I said My bold for my double emphasis. We're not talking about cars tuned to the edge of det here. We're talking about normal cars. Flame propagation speed and the amount of energy required to ignite the fuel are not significant factors when running at 1500-4000 rpm, and medium to light loads, like nearly every car on the road (except twin cab utes which are driven at 6k and 100% load all the time). There is no shortage of ignition energy available in any petrol engine. If there was, we'd all be in deep shit. The calorific value, on a volume basis, is significantly different, between 98 and 91, and that turns up immediately in consumption numbers. You can see the signal easily if you control for the other variables well enough, and/or collect enough stats. As to not seeing any benefit - we had a couple of EF and EL Falcons in the company fleet back in the late 90s and early 2000s. The EEC IV ECU in those things was particularly good at adding in timing as soon as knock headroom improved, which typically came from putting in some 95 or 98. The responsiveness and power improved noticeably, and the fuel consumption dropped considerably, just from going to 95. Less delta from there to 98 - almost not noticeable, compared to the big differences seen between 91 and 95. Way back in the day, when supermarkets first started selling fuel from their own stations, I did thousands of km in FNQ in a small Toyota. I can't remember if it was a Starlet or an early Yaris. Anyway - the supermarket servos were bringing in cheap fuel from Indonesia, and the other servos were still using locally refined gear. The fuel consumption was typically at least 5%, often as much as 8% worse on the Indo shit, presumably because they had a lot more oxygenated component in the brew, and were probably barely meeting the octane spec. Around the same time or maybe a bit later (like 25 years ago), I could tell the difference between Shell 98 and BP 98, and typically preferred to only use Shell then because the Skyline ran so much better on it. Years later I found the realtionship between them had swapped, as a consequence of yet more refinery closures. So I've only used BP 98 since. Although, I must say that I could not fault the odd tank of United 98 that I've run. It's probably the same stuff. It is also very important to remember that these findings are often dependent on region. With most of the refineries in Oz now dead, there's less variability in local stuff, and he majority of our fuels are not even refined here any more anyway. It probably depends more on which SE Asian refinery is currently cheapest to operate.
    • You don't have an R34 service manual for the body do you? Have found plenty for the engine and drivetrain but nothing else
    • If they can dyno them, get them dyno'd, make sure they're not leaking, and if they look okay on the dyno and are performing relatively well, put them in the car.   If they're leaking oil etc, and you feel so inclined, open them up yourself and see what you can do to fix it. The main thing you're trying to do is replace the parts that perish, like seals. You're not attempting to change the valving. You might even be able to find somewhere that has the Tein parts/rebuild kit if you dig hard.
    • Can you also make sure the invoices on the box (And none exist in the boxes) are below our import duty limits... I jest, there's nothing I need to actually purchase and order in. (Unless you can find me a rear diff carrier, brand new, for stupidly cheap, that is for a Toyota Landcruiser, HZJ105R GXL, 2000 year model...)
