Real pretty brakes for a car that has done less kms then mine the last 3 years.

Awesome setup, the water cooling cant be a bad thing for a full weight R34 GTR that needs to stop and stop. Interesting to see if they fit inside your rims

LOL i am pumped that your car is looking good for being back on the road

Look awesome

More pics of the calipers please?!

Disc specs?

Love the colour scheme of AP's, but after a while IMO they can look scabby. Here's my rears, painted to match engine bay

Hey Steve, are they enduro calipers that accomodate a 35mm thick rotor??? Where did you score them from?

Pure porn...............

Hey mate, long time no speak, hope you're well

Yeah they'll take a big rotor, ive got some v8supercar sized ones downstairs waiting (about 10 sets), id have to go measure, but im pretty sure they take 38mm, same as fronts. May be only 35mm, eitherway, its better than most sets of fronts out there and its for the rears :D

Got them from that v8supercar team that got bought and liquidated ages ago in Queensland, a VERY helpful SAU'er was able to be my eyes and ears on site as soon as the doors opened. Once they were paid for i drove up and got them about a week later, by the time he was finished there was only crappy stuff left, lucky he got in early.

You should see the fronts, AP say they're good for up to 400mm x 38mm. Ill post pics when i get them back from the painters. Got ex v8supercab discs for them, just cant find rims in 18'' to fit over them without going TE37's (exchange rate is the concern)

Shame they're not watercooled though :)

Hows yours going?

That's awesome Steve, your cas is going to be an animal when it's finished considering all the goodies you have gathered. Pics of fronts when you get them back OR BAN!!

Have you got the hats and adaptors made up yet?

TE37's or LMGT4's would be the go for these big f@*#ers...

Not much happening with my car, has had the front resprayed and a new motor put in it that has done 200 street k's.

Sitting under a cover at the moment, looking at building a dedicated track car, similar to what I have now but 250kgs lighter and not as shiny.

Oh, and Troy (ylwgtr2), nice brakes!!

Oh, water cooled. Very nice.

First time for me there. Looks like an oil cooler haha.

I've got quite a few sets of brakes :)

Set of 8 piston brembos with Carbon fibre discs and pads :D

Not good for street use though, only for high temperature.

Light as a feather.

I'll post some pics when i have time.

btw, custom brackets are a very costly road.

Nah dont have adaptors or hats yet, why, know someone who can do it for a good price?

TE's are the fav choice, just waiting for a decent priced local set, or ill go new in a few months

New motor? RB30 is it? :)

Your car is WAY too nice for circuit duties mate, i know a lot of people say things like that, but i mean it :P

Pics of those would be great!

Yeah, "custom" means $$$$ - agreed!

Nah, don't know anybody that makes hats and adaptors, maybe ask Roy...

Nah not RB30, same as before but a little more powerful and a little more responsive.

I know what you mean, hence why I haven't been to the track since the tidy up, looking at building a track only car...

*Awaits pics*

    • I've looked up the parts number (41011AL501). It's around $700 OEM. Usually our Infiniti G35 here in Canada have interchangeable parts with my Stagea but the parts number are not the same. I have looked around and it seems the JDM 2005 V35 Skyline (which is the same as our G35) has the same caliper but I cannot confirm. And I can't find a repair kit. The inner brake pads drags on the rotor, seems to be rusty piston. Thanks for the info by the way
    • This coupled with 6-9 speed autos with ridiculously short gearing is why these modern shitbox cars always seem so fast off the line. If it wasn't for those things, Raptors would not seem fast. The problem we have is there is a driveability gap between a more gentle take off and a wheelspinning sideways launch. The difference between ankle flex required to achieve one and ankle flex required to achieve the other is about 0.5°.
    • Yeah I think I'm also with the opposite here. It's 'hard to keep up with traffic' because in the real world I'm accelerating with 15% throttle and they are pinning it. It feels like I'm being an overt dickhead at anything above 15% throttle, so the car sounds like I'm being an overt dickhead to keep up with/get ahead of traffic when I'm really just trying to drive with traffic. There would be no issue 'keeping up with traffic' if we used the same level of throttle input/aggression to drive around. People really do just drive around with their foot nearly pinned in econoboxes.
    • To be fair it's the other way around. 300kw is boring in a modern Golf or BMW. They are so competent / well-engineered / devoid of emotion that you have to go stupid fast to feel anything. Whereas the <300kw RB still makes all the right noises and it feels good to drive. Can pull off at the lights with the turbo whooshing and the blow-off pssshing and feel like the coolest kid on the block. Just don't look to the side where you'll see the bored housewifes in their shitbox Yaris/Corolla/Camry that kept up because you didn't go fast at all
    • 300kW is so boring in a Skyline, you'll get spanked by someone's mum's Golf with Alibaba pipes, and an email tune.
