hey, i had a problem in my 32 where when the car warms up and you turn it off, you wont be able to turn it back on, nothing else, it was perfect. anyway i decided to take it down to G Tech, he goes to me the car needs a tune and it will fix it. i gave it to him then next day he goes to me i found you problem it was a voltage error, he goes ill fix it for ya. two days later he calls me up and said your car is finished. went to pick it up and he had dyno tuned the car himself. now the car doesn't even sound like a skyline, it rumbles, its as rough as anything, and it doesn't idle. if you rev it to 3000 rpm the car turns off. its constantly blowing blue smoke where its setup to blow smoke only when giving it to the car. me the idiot had paid him $400 before i knew what was wrong with the car. now the car cant even get out of my driveway and it will turn off. i called him and told him, he goes if you want me to check it out for ya its gona cost you. basically i gave him $400 for my car to roll backwards. the car is running a microtech computer, garrett gt30 turbo and currently sitting on 240 kw rear wheels.

if anyone has a idea what the problem could be, please it will be much appreciated

that there sounds like bad business already. should a told him you'd take it up with consumer affairs possibly. take it to another workshop and make sure this time they too don't screw ya over?

yea, i was thinking of taking it down to protech, i might go back and try get my money back off him. he ruined the car. hard to trust some people these days

that's a hard one to argue if it was running fine when you picked it up. id say cut your losses and get it fixed by someone else and make sure you can take the car back if it starts playing up again without your influence. Its not nice to abuse someones honesty to help.

now i'm no qualified mechanic but this doesn't sound right

its constantly blowing blue smoke where its setup to blow smoke only when giving it to the car

The car should not blow blue smoke at all

The rough idle and stalling could be a sensor problem

but the blue smoke is something more worrying

oh, nah i thought you said pick it up as in when i bought it, coz i had just bought the car like 3 weeks ago. when i bought the car is was running well, but after i took it down to G Tech, it is doing all of this stuff

hmm, coz the oil line is going to the catch can, but then instead of another line going to the sump, its heading back up to the manifold.

GTech you said....that says a lot.

I am sorry to hear.

Have heard many horror stories about them.

Have witnessed one myself at Glenroy Exhaust.

GTech forgot to earth the computer and sent this poor sod to get a tip welded.

His computer was fried. I think they fried it and were covering it up.

I had an oil leek and got a quote of $3000 to fix from them...lol

It was the front and rear seals. I was told to sit down for the news on my repair costs.

I know its a Public Forum....but there should be a member stand against these sorts of people.

A section of the Forum, exclusive to paying members to view.

1-Cost of repairs

2-Faults detected and prices to fix.

3-Workshops that are honest and true to clients.

4- Rip offs.

In fact a cost from some workshops to price a 100K service for all our cars would be great.

The cost of a oil and filter change even trips me out these days, and what some pay.

Would love to see some workshops come on board and give us set prices for a particular car.

It may have only been a temprature sensor, but they must have pulled everything apart.

Played with your AFM, then the tune and then left a few things off and tried running it.

Tripped a few things and fried your computer. I mean he did give you back the car blowing smoke.

God knows if he even knows how this computer works.

Forgot what he did, put it back together and gave it to you, knowing well you would call the next day.

Do not take it back, I am warning you.

After fixing your problem, post it up here for everyone to read.

thanks alot for helping out.. my motor is actually gone, i took it down to maztech and they checked it out. they saw all 6 cylinders pinned, no compression at all in cylinder 6 and all other cylinders were running low compression. pistons chipped and no point of trying to fix. my car was running rich and G Tech had leaned it out to much, therefor caused not enough fuel going to the pistons. also was boosted to 24psi and he never said anything about that, according to maztech for a motor like mine to rebuild will cost me up to 10k.

i am looking for a RB25 if anyone knows where i could get one cheep, or if anyone is selling one. will be alot easier to fit it in and a stronger motor.

    • The sodium citrate solution is designed to buffer the citric acid to keep it from attacking metal quite so much, the guy that came up with that recipe did a ton of testing on how much metal loss occurs over time and it's nothing crazy unless you forget about it for months:
    • Ohhh I see lol To be honest the main reason why I wanted to start modding is because of a business trip to Japan and Indonesia. I saw many cool and modded cars all throughout in these countries, especially Japan. I myself am of Chinese+Japanese nationality and when living in china (never lived in Japan js my dad side lol) I remember staring at these cars pass by with their loud tacky exhausts and insane wide body kits. And when I went back to Japan, I got even more invested even asking people about their cars and why they modded. Most gave similar answers to what you said but funny enough one guy just said that he saw the need for speed movie being filmed once in Tokyo I think near Shibuya Crossing and got inspired to tune and mod. After that I just started to fantasize on owning a car like that. Also tbh I prefer the R32 over the R34 it's just the R34 is more iconic lol (also apparently better aftermarket support than the R32) and my only goal really is just to make the car mine and make it fun to drive. As much as I love my Cayenne it's pretty bland to drive. Sure the interior is nice and pretty, gives you attention yada yada but I've wanted to experience what it is like to have a car that is truly yours. I suppose thats the goal so far. Haha if you find where I'm from, then sure. Ill help you out on your next "financial decision"
    • From what I am discovering, the grey plug is auto signal. If you car is manual it's not relevant to your set up man.
    • Yeah, but the country is turning to a bit of shite at the moment... (Majority of work is NZ'ers, and we have an office in NZ I deal with daily...)
    • If it came off a Skyline you could easily have sold it for $500 to someone wanting OEM parts to return their car to stock. Not sure if that market is in the Stageas or not.
