I saw it just over a week ago at a panel beater near my work. They had the front stripped to quote. They do all the high end $300K plus cars

I have a spare $160K at the moment, stuff the house reno's. It goes to auction on the 24th. I think I might have a look. . .

hey Mate, if your keen i can ask my brother tomorrow whats up with it and get a very honest description and whats up with it from him

pm me your mobile and i can get him to call you if he will.....

I will check with the panel shop tomorrow and see what they say.

Looks like it could be a flood car

I buy new car parts and slip them under the magic bench in the workshop, but a whole car might be a bit hard to get past the wife.

She said no more cars. I have built 3 others since that comment. What is one more....

Yee sweet as, let me know if you need to talk to my brother, i will let him know your keen anyway and to expect a call.

not sure if its a flood job, i asked him if there was any good flood cars the other day and he said no..

ohh someone should tell him there are no R35 skylines. meant to say that.

of course he had friends bid on it. whats the bet one of them accidently won and its listed next week because of 'non payment' or something similar

The only people stupid enough to bid on it were his mates or himself as you can see all of them have history with him and do you think the bidders names look alike or is it just me...

The names mean nothing anymore, they are randomly assigned but consistent to the same person.

How did you get all that history?

Cheers

Andy

You just log in and the info is there, you can see the same people bid on items off each other and give them perfect feed back, it is a way to build up your ratings.

thanks, found it. I thought it was a summary screen on all bidders then I realized you had put that shot together.

I would agree that the 2 highest bidders look a bit sus. But that said, good luck to them as it is not my money spent on that car. :P

Seriously, it would probably be less head f**k for the current owner to sell it to an import wrecker. Surely they would pay $5k for an M35 that has a fair number of good panels and a reasonable interior. It wouldn't be unreasonable to expect that the drivetrain is ok too.

:P

What a waste of everyone's time...

(but hey it kept us amused for a bit.)

A CPV35 with interior fire sold for $6,000 the other day here and we estimated it to be worth $3,500 to $4,000 due to the punt you are taking not knowing what is salvageable... It was seriously burnt but I forgot to get a picture.

pickles?

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
