No.

take the boost controller out. put it back on actuator. and re-test. report back results please.

Ok will do, but out of curiosity wont the mixture be out of wack and tuned to 12 p? Will puting it to the actuator put it down to stock 7p ?

Also, do i keep the solonoid hoses blocked? Wat should i do with the hoses apart from running the cooler hose to the actator?

your ecu is NOT programable. changing the boost will not effect anything. there is no way to tune your ecu so please ignore this its not tuned business because its not tunable.

Your tuner did not tune the car to 12psi or any boost level. if he said this then he probly did because he was charging you extra money and needed an excuse for it.

report back with results

as much as i would love a new ecu i dont want to go that path as they are not legal

Then look into a daughter board.

it goes into your ECU box.

Toshi or dr drift maybe has these?

Also, EMU's like gready emanage uses your stock computer as well, just hide the emanage or something.

Your a member of vic SAU, so talk to them an see how they go about tuning their computers.

The stock computer is so stupidly out of tune at 12 PSI that putting it back to stock PSI will improve the tune if anything.

Ok, wat do i do with the hoses wat is the stock setup?

And i dont hav the hose with the little ball restricter, does this matter? or will not having the restricter bring it to 10 pound?

ok i took it for a spin with no controller etc

doing the exact same thing!

the hoses are fine theres no leaks etc, any specific hoses i should check on the engine?

im getting the intercooler pressure tested next week to see if its that to

:(

you need to give me more information. what is it doing?!?

explain. the "same thing" is not good enough. I aint going to help you if you are not going to give me proper feedback.

up to you.

Well it gets to .5 bar and pauses for a second at around 5k rpm and starts creeping, it got to .7 bar before i pulled off, couldve gone more, felt the same roughness, it also had this strange power boostwene it was past .5 bar....

what exhaust system are you running? mainly cat converter and dump pipe... also if you've got access to a reulator and compressor, check to see if the diaphram in your actuator hasnt gt a slght split/crack/leak, do this by connecting hose to actuator from compresser and very slowly start putting pressure into it and you should see the arm move and open the flap on the turbo.

ok now. leave the line connected how it was when you did this test.

Do the test again

Next time dont back off untill it goes over 1 bar. if it does go over one bar. report back with results. and be acurate with results again please.

ok i took her for a spin tonight, i took it easy in 1 and 2, 3 i floord it, it when normaly to .5kpa and paused there for a sec, then it started to creep slowley toward 1bar, now heres the thing, it got to 1bar and stopped, then came back to .9bar and sat then i backed off, when it got to 1bar i was doing about 130 so i backed off. so it wont go over 1bar and will come back to .9bar as soon as it gets to 1bar.

i wasnt really looking at the taco at the time but i never reached the rev limiter, so i think it got to 1bar at around 6k

Id say start from scratch. Remove the stock solonoid (the thing in your pic where u have one hose blocked off and the other hose comes from the BOV return/plumback Line). Get rid of it, and block off the hose from the bov return line.

Run a boost line from part of your intercooler piping on the high pressure side of the turbo to your actuator.

I got the impression from one of your posts that you have a dump pipe that has a wastegate flap built into it, meaning you have 2 wastegate flaps (1 on the turbo and 1 on the dump pipe).... i believe i misunderstood this as you trying to explain that u have a bellmouth dump pipe that is one pipe from your exhaust wheel and wastegate flap rather then a seperate pipe from your wastegate flap that joins into the exhaust later.

I know people have already suggested to run a line from ur pipework directly to ur actuator. but Im just saying get rid of all the crap thats in there so you just have the basic one line.

See how u go :(

mine was doing the same thing at the beginning of the year after i put on my high flow. just wanted to go to 17 psi no matter what i did. ended up being that the tune was to rich and over boosting. to fix i put in a 2 1/4 " restriction plate in and a re tune with a SAFC2. only goes to 11 psi now.

was it doing it before you decatted?

Edited by Pal

Pal

its the stock ecu so i dont know if it can run rich?

i cant remember if it was before i decatted, ive ordered a catco cat so we will soon see!

Boostin96

the solonoid is all blocked off at the moment, theres a pipe to the lower hole but its blocked aswell, all the hoses are done as you suggested.

i have a bellmouth yes, its just a one bit 3 inch pipe to the back of the turbo, but when i had a split pipe in, it was also doing this.

you say, remove all the crap in there so its just one pipe? but at the moment i just have the one hose from the cooler piping to the actuator, i dont think it can get any simpler lol

i still recon its down to the tune. as far as i know the stock computer runs rich and with all the other stuff on there and running rough at the top end will be the r&r. need to get yourself a tunable computer or get yours chipped.

    • Hi guys, long time no post as per usual! It's been a busy year so far, the biggest thing being a new job.  After 28 years in the automotive industry I decided it was time for a change.  I was losing faith in the industry and where it's heading.  Now in a completely different industry (electrical) working for a company that manufacture water pump contollers.  Not as sexy as cars but it's an interesting,  challenging industry. I now don't work Saturdays which is a bonus!  It's still 50-55 hours a week but having Saturdays ack after 28 years of working them is awesome!   No news on the GT-R but i did decide to add some more JDM goodness into my life....           1990 300 ZX.  She's not perfect but for a 35 year old car she ain't bad!  Just going to tidy it up a bit and enjoy it.  It's currently auto but will start stockpiling everything for a manual swap. It WILL distract me even further from the GT-R but im hoping not for too long! It somewhat proves a 6'8" freak can fit in a 300 ZX.  Sort of...  I drove it home from the previous owners house in Melbourne via Black Spur and Merton Gap (2 awesome bits of Victorian twisty road) and it was amazing!  Handles so well!!!   I don't think it would be worthy of a full build page but I'll post up some of the upgrades here if anyone is interested?  Cheers guys!
    • End game is to: - Remove all the slop from old worn parts - Adjust setup so that the wheels actually fit and the car is drivable (currently it is not because of the extreme rubbing on the guards).   Progress over the last couple of days, removed the rear hubs! Next steps: - Buy bushings - Replace bushings/bearings on hub - Reinstall
    • Cracked deck  And other cam snap stuff
    • A few random issues have popped up since my last update. My WMI pressure sensor failed within about 10 minutes of it seeing liquid. It was a 20$ China special, so I'm not surprised. My name brand replacement should arrive today.  My power steering assist also decided to crap out last weekend. The usual, works for about 60 seconds after starting the car then I lose it. I dusted off my old copy of NDS and connected to the HICAS ECU. Code 4 for assist solenoid.... I tested the solenoid and it's fine.  I knew the day where my HICAS ecu would crap out would come, and I welcome it. It was the last HICAS part on the car that is now in the bin. I've ordered an SSR and I will control the power steering solenoid with my Haltech ecu. It will be nice to have proper speed referenced assist again after all these years.
