I think they are excellent value, try seriously hotting up an R33 or R34 & see how much you lose.

I dont think that there is any doubt that they are excellent value for money and no one is disputing that fact but that has no bearing on their value in 2 years time in the used car market.

Yeah, thought so, same story will be a GT-R. Plus, all the hype has already died down, now its just another car, awesome, but still its just a car.

This topic can actually extend a bit and discuss the issue where a perceived Euro cars maintain their value much better than Japs - hmmmm, I wouldn't wanna be an owner of that 2 year old RS-4 on carsales: 165K + orc when new, now he has it advertised for 105K. Damn, even excluding ORC costs that is a whopping 36% loss in 2 years.

Or something more comparable to a GT-R: 911 GT2, 8 years old, price when new was 400-450K I think, now its advertised for 225K. Ouch. Still better than RS4, but 50% loss in 8 years, damn.

Biggest difference between these two examples and the R35 GT-R is that these vehicles remained stock, and with poser businessman they also still have a name/brand appeal.

You could somehow conclude that a stock, ADM in good condition should not lose more than 35% in 2-3 years time. You'd hope. Still, looks like one of the posters earlier was right: sub 100K doesn't look so crazy now.

OK, 911 GT-2 was 425K when new, now they have them advertised for 205K, 223K and 225K. Only 50 delivered in Oz. If you got this GT-2 eight years ago you'd have to feel raped now, even without CPI indexation.

Out of all car brands in Australia in a survey i read last year, AUDI's had THE WORST resale value of ALL brands ever. If you buy one it will go down the most over its new price.

Australian's don't know or respect Audi's I guess. Dunno its just not loved by Aussies the way BMW's are.

I don't know about you guys, but I bought my R35 to keep, i an't selling it so could careless about resale. Its the only car its its price for performance, looks & kudos. The closest thing to it is the BMW M3 which I was thinking about buying till I drove it and thought it was boring as hell, and slow as hell compared to the R35.

Very old saying in motorsport."My wife said if I don't stop racing she is going to leave me.Well man I'm going to miss her". I mentioned that to Lisa Curry-Kenny several years ago at Bathhurst when hubby Grant was racing.Havn't seen him on the scene for a while.I geuss for some it's all about priorities.Strong willed girl that one.

Not wanting to burst your bubble mate but the examples quoted rehab2010 are extremely relevent. The R35 may be the most hyped car for a long time but lets not forget it also wears a nissan badge wich certainly does not have the prestege attached to it that the audi and bmw badges do hence i would think that the resale will probably be worse than that of the examples given regardless of performance etc.

I would actually be thinking that resale in 2 years time will be more like 95-100k. Lets not forget that there will also be a stigma attached to them in regards to service history and the like and seeing as how all the cars data will be available to potential buyers there will be no hiding the history of the car ( unlike the M3 RS4 etc) so potential buyers will be able to see if the car has had a hard life or not and lets face it who is not going to give their R35 a hard time. Also the fact that there will be no warrenty offered by the time the car is 2 years old and it is a horrendously expensive car to maintain requireing gearbox oil changes, brake and rotor changes etc at much shorter intervals thann the examples mentioned this will limit the resale market to the true enthusiest's rather than the wealthy buisnesmen wich in my opinion will also be more likely to be taking the prestege of a badge into account. I guess we will all find out in a few years time but i think you are kidding yourself if you think that you will not see at least 30-35% depreciation over 2 years IMHO.

thankgod someone has an idea! not to take anything away from this car, i f**king love it but the ass will drop out of these things in a few years (regarding price that is).

its just the way the car market is in australia, and seeing this is a nissan and only select few would like to spent 100k on a nissan (let alone 170) makes it even worse

but let me make it clear i love this thing and if i had the cash id buy one. dont grill me

Comment about this ad: well, I reckon its an absolute BS - they are trying to sell a DEMO for a price of a new one. The only thing they don't charge here is the dealer delivery. 158K + stamp duty. Hmmmmmmmmmm, BS, would never pay this price for a thrashed car IMHO.

I was quoted $170k for a Super silver back 3 months ago, so it would of been $167,000 brand new premium ADM one including everything at the time.

Your pricing your car at $2000 discount on what it would of cost when you got it and your car comes with a great deal of unknown thrashing by manager.

When spending this much i'd rather get a fresh one for a tiny tiny bit more. Although some people hate to wait.

agreed with Munro, if you wanna play you have to pay, simple.

back to topic, Nissan will always be Nissan, will always depreciate faster than other euro exotics.

But does not matter what car it is, the more it cost the more it has to drop.

p.s. it is me or everyone here seems to own R35?!!!!

If it was a matter of simply bringing it over on a ship then it would be a bargain at around $103,000 Au.

    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small.     • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
    • Place the new daughterboard in the case and mount it using the 3 small black rivets provided, and reconnect the 3 factory ribbon cables to the new board Then, use the 3 piggyback cables from the daughterboard into the factory board on top (there are stand offs in the case to keep them apart. and remember to reconnect the antenna and rear cover fan wires. 1 screw to hold the motherboard in place. Before closing the case, make a hole in the sticker covering a hole in the case and run the cable for the android unit into the plug there. The video forgot this step, so did I, so will you probably. Then redo the 4 screws on back, 2 each top and bottom, 3 each side and put the 2 brackets back on.....all ready to go and not that tricky really.
