Hey all, i want to correct the rear camber on my R33 and ive heard bushes are the way to go so ive found a whiteline kit on ebay.

Its not a very good picture but theres just eight plastic bushes and 4 metal sleeves (Whiteline Part # KCA347)

So, questions i have are;

1. It claims +/- 0.75 deg, that confuses me pretty good as it seems like nothing, how do i know if its enough? :s

2. Its up for $150 delivered, does that sound right?

3. Seeing as theres not many parts it seems pretty simple but how hard are they to fit and adjust?

4. Does anyone know a better option or where i can get a better price?

Depends on how bad the camber is too. If its only a tiny bit -u can flip the tyres, but if u got alot might be worth investing.

Although normally the skyline has alot worse camber on the back, so check that first!! its just the car

Yea i heard the arms arent as good as bushes (need adjusting regularly and they crack and break), didnt know they had to be pressed, what do the bushes get pressed into? :s

And does anyone know where i could take my car and just have it done my them? (brisbane area)

When I just had my bushes in my r33 - I think I had -1.5 or so at the rear and -1.9 up front.

This was also due to the car being slightly lower.

I had a mod done with the front, I had the front cross members modified so I had -4 up front...bt that was used for track :D

How low is your car? ifits too low, that can be an issue with getting too much neg camber.

give fulcrum suspension a call.

They do superpro bushes and kits etc for skylines

decent prices and they can install and wheel align etc.

Its got standard suspension with "low" king springs, think thats about a 50mm drop? not sure though

How much camber has it got now? The kit will remove 0.75 degrees plus the standard camber adjuster is good for another 0.25 degrees.

If you haven't had the camber checked then the guidlines are simple, all measurements are centre of wheel to guard of course;

Standard (new) height is 380 mm front and 370 mm rear

360/350 mm needs only the standard rear camber adjusters

350/340 mm needs 1 front camber kit and 1 rear camber kit

340/330 mm needs I front camber kit and 2 rear camber kits

The process is simple, remove the upper control arms and traction rods from the car. Put them in a press, around 10 tonnes is enough, so a small home garage style will do it. Push out the old non adjustable rubber bushes and press in the new adjustable polyurethane ones. Stick arms back in the car and take for a wheel alignment. Make sure the aligner has experience in Skylines as they have to adjust the traction rods and upper control arms in tandem otherwise you will end up with bad bump steer.

4. Does anyone know a better option or where i can get a better price?

Thanks for that gary, but now im just plain CONFUSED haha. I just went out and measured from the centre of the wheel to the guard and got; Rear: 475mm and Front: 485 so your measurements suggest my car sits 105mm higher than standard but i have camber suggesting the opposite? :P (top of the wheel sits in, inner tyre wear)

Oh and if you could post up or PM deails about a better option and or price id appreciate it :D

u measured wrong, ive had 400mm before and it was stupidly high, possibly either didnt measure it right, or u misread (375 and 385)

    • Hello! Long time lurker, been using the forums to address concerns and questions from afar for a while but I've struggled to find some answers so I guess its about time I made an account and formally asked some more knowledgeable people, since finding local skyline owners is hard (and shops that are knowledgeable or trustworthy to work on 'rare' cars are non existent out where im at, as skylines are quite uncommon to find in the wild around here). So the main 3 questions I have, 1: Steering rack has blown seals, well.. they kind of hold but they are not sealed properly anymore and as my R33 is my DD, i cant exactly rip the rack out and send it off or attempt to fix myself. As most refurb ones are around $1,100 or more shipped, and I have other things I need to work on around the car, I was seeking clarification on whether an S15 rack will more or less bolt right in, and whether a common mechanic could do any other required work to get it to fit. I ask, as I've found a supplier than can sell a manufactured as oem one for around 400, if not I'll likely order a used one from Jacks JDM, and take a risk on the seals there. The second question i have is that im replacing the front wiper cowl and have planned to buy 4 new clips and a new center clip but wasnt sure if there were any other clips that would also need to get replaced while I was at it. Given im sure any that are there now will simply break when I remove the old cowl... Last thing would be a fairly straight forward question, i think. If I manage (strong if, finding one has proven to be a pain) to find a R33 GTR spoiler/wing will it require much modification to bolt to a S2 R33 GTST? I've read the bolt patterns dont match but otherwise would bolt in, only options I have found with much luck is China stuff on ebay and carbonetics, which has a nice $650 shipping fee... so if anyone has any pointers where a US chap could locate one that would be great Random side question as well, the mirrors as I understand are mirror glass, and as im planning to polish my windows from water spots and surface scratches, i was hopeful cerium oxide would be fine for them too, as my research points to, but clarification is always nice. Any pointers would be appreciated, and while I have scoured the internet for answers if I missed a prior post somewhere that may answer these directly please point me towards it, as i must have simply missed it. I have seen a post here or there that has mentioned it, but I usually get 50-50 answers, or half answers... I dont have a lot of fab experience or mechanic experience, outside of hydraulic and pneumatic stuff I did in the military and with how hard it is to source stuff in the US, id rather not wing it and hemmoraghe money lol.     • Yep, there's a very minor drift left that happens a few seconds after letting go of the steering wheel, but not enough to bother me. Enjoying the car still!
