Hi all,

I do heaps of mountain runs and long drives - which means lots of constant higher revs, all seasons of the year - summer the most concerning.

The obvious things that come to mind are premium fluids, engine oil cooler and auto trans cooler.

Is there anything else I'm missing/need or upgraded?

I'm running a pretty stock rb25de n/a r34 auto with very minor mods - extractors, high flow cat and air filter - I do not intend on doing any more performance mods - I just want to be able to run the at its peak for longer periods of time without (or at least lessen) the risk of breaking things.

Cheers

  • 2 weeks later...

honestly, i dont think theres anything to worry about

N/A are actually more reliable than Turbo cars

im sure your car will cope just fine......

premium fluids are just the name.... These 0W - 30W oils.... its not worth the $95 for oil thats going to be replaced shortly

You might want to also think about upgrading your brakes, tyres, suspension and strut braces, if not done already...

Use top quality engine oil and coolant fluids and do regular 5000kms if not 3000kms oil and oil filter changes.

Also after your spirited run up and down the hills you might just want to let the car sit and idle for a minute or two (A bit like cool down time for turbo(s).

Not necessary but does not hurt to do it.

    • Agreed, I've never seen a 260RS specific manual. As GTSBoy said it will mostly be stagea other than the engine loom https://www.hgeconsulting.com.au/stageaservicemanual.pdf
    • You'lll likely have to make do with R33 GTR for engine/tranny stuff, and Stagea for the body. I don't know that there's even been an actual diagram seen in the wild.
    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
