Did anyone else see this in the paper this morning?

"WA Police Union president-elect Russell Armstrong said serious traffic offenders, including drink drivers, speeders, hoons and motorists driving under the influence of drugs, would escape on-the-spot police fines of up to $1000 but would still face court action. Minor offenders, such as drivers who failed to indicate, would avoid fines and escape with a caution" (taken from thewest)

Would this mean that you are caught speeding and, provided it wasnt excessive enough to go to courts, you would get off? Are police even targeting speeding at the moment?

But i reckon its a media scam... so we all go and do what they tell us.

We live in the year 21st century and you all believe what we hear and see on the news and papers!

(: so good luck to anyone who wants to try your luck ay

yeah ive heard a lot about this on the radio, the cops want a 15%(?) increase in wages over 3 yrs and are being offered 9%.

So yeah, no infringements (said the cop guy on the radio) but still court action.

be polite and show some skin and who knows what you can get away with...

Yeah, all well and good, but a dude showing ass to a police officer is going to land you in court regardless :P

http://www.news.com.au/perthnow/story/0,21...340-948,00.html <- this is the article in the news at the moment. Mr dickhead colin had the nerve to make such a gaffe as to insinuate that he would offer the WA Police a %12.9 payrise over 3 years and then say later on "sorry, my bad, that's not what I meant..."

Either way, bear in mind that the WA Police still have a job to do and if your acting up bad enough, they are still going to do you for it.

Yeah I can totally picture a cop pulling someone over for drink driving, then giving them a caution & send off the summons later. Enjoy the rest of your drive home mate. It's just more media bullshit blown up really, if you're doing like 10-20 over they will prob pull you over but instead of fining you tell you you're a idiot & let you go on your way. If you're doing 50 over then they will probably tow your car anyway, but if not you would still go to the court & go through the process anyway.

The funny thing I find is that the cops have said they will stop giving out traffic fines so the government gets the message about how much money they won't recieve by them doing it. Just proves yet again it's about money & not "saving lives" as claimed, just too bad most of the public still won't realise that.

I was going over 200 on the freeway this morning and a cop stopped me and let me off with a warning. But fk him, I'll try for 300 on the way home this arvo :P

You're a weak kunt, me veyron does over 400 aye

I'm guessing most cops who take their jobs seriously, who think that someone they're pulling over is an honest threat, will do something about it.

But like ossie_21 said, i think they'll turn a blind eye to stuff like people doing 10-20kph over the limit or loud exhausts. who knows.

but yeah wreckless drivers will prob still get done.

i'm guessing there will always be those who will do their job even without monetary incentive...

I haven't seen any speed cameras in ages, so i can't say whether or not they're all blocked.

They'll prob just be more lenient, like sat night.

    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
