jutstar
Dude, Don't waste money on a dyno when its probably spark plugs ! When were they changed last ? You want heat range 5 plugs, gapping them at 0.8 mm overcomes some missing problems If its not Spark plugs I would go Coils, havn't tried the yellowjacket ones. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Mi...500-t32356.html Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/273976-weird-noise-when-my-car-revs-to-5000-rpm/page/2/#findComment-4648504 Share on other sites
mad082
yes it sounds like either spark plug or coil pack issue. start with new plugs. if that doesn't help tape up the coils (there is a thread on here about how to do it). if that still doesn't work then it will more than likely be time for new coils. i wouldn't go heat range 5 plugs. they are too hot and will just cause pinging due to higher cylinder temps. either BCPR6ES or BKR6ES are the 2 options. both will cost about the same and do the same job. ran both types in my 33 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/273976-weird-noise-when-my-car-revs-to-5000-rpm/page/2/#findComment-4649362 Share on other sites
robots
I have seen it a couple of times on rb25det engines already. Like you gun it in 2nd gear, 4k, 5k, 6k and it like splutters. You think it should do the usual rev-limiter bounce, but it doesn't. It goes like brrr, like engine is running out of breath with very strange sound. Doesn't sound like the coil-pack misfire. Anyone had this before ? When you rev it in neutral, nothing strange happens it just rev cuts at late 6k. Any ideas what could it be ? battery
change the plugs and clean the coil pack contacts then tape them up and see how you go!
