hey mate i had a similar problem and it maybe ether of there 2 things the crank angle sensor (cas). if you have a mate with the same car or some one that you could lend it off just to try it. just mark it swap them and try it. or you can clean your aac valve but this usually only will conk you out when you go down to idle. if it is all carboned up when you let go of the accelerator it will just die on you.

well it is a bit confusing sorry about that but i hope this can help you out cheers

yer that is what happens.. after boost when i slow down to say a speed hump

at idle it just dies on me.. 1-2min later it will start up.. i think ill try that it sounds like that could b it..! cheers mate.

If no luck on the AAC, clean the AFM.

yer i cleaned aac out.. cleand afm.. replaced fuel filter too.. stalled on me today while driving at 60km...? what the hell.. 2min later starts up fine.. if its not bov.. maybe fuel pump.? dont enjoying stalling at major intersections much..!

Im guessing the bov is venting to atmosphere? looks like thats the problem if it is.

yer it is.. might move it an see how it gos.. if it still happens im going to go nuts.. not loving stalling every time i drive !

Another issue I came across once that was similar to this was that there was a loose wire on the ECU harness.

Just to cover all bases, remove the kick panel, start the car and GENTLY wriggle the ECU harness and see if the car cuts out.

sweet ill give it a go..

sweet ill give it a go..

man..! started the car up an let it idle for 2-3min an it just died an stalled.. starting to think its the fuel pump.. had to get it towed.. just kept getting worse an worse.. then it woulnt even start to drive onto the toetruck..!!!!!!!!!! hoping its the fuel pump..! strange but.! :)

Symptoms point to the pump as a possibility, very common for the old R32 pumps to die, since it's a early 33 the stock pump might be nearly 15 years old now

yer.. hoping soo ill keep yous informed.. hope to get it back monday or tuesday after the boys down the shop do all the tests an stuff on everythig..

HOLY CRAP!!! I thought i was the only tard to stop at a major intersection, holding up Melbourne's traffic. Great FUN! So the fuel pump solved your problem. I'm gonna get one on Wednesday see how I go.

P.S I feel your pain!

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
