CAR HAS BEEN FOUND IN ALBANY!

stereo taken out and windows all smashed, was left along the side of the road and he'll be going to collect it within the next few days

thanks for all the help guys, thank god it's been found

and before any questions are asked... found by who? i wasn't told lol just reading my sms

Aw man thats f**king awesome!! I guess whoever stole it realised how far over they were! Question: How are they getting back to Perth lol?

Anyway, thats such good news, real happy for you man, the gem in WA's crown has been found. Sucks about the radio and windows, but atleast it is in one piece. Details!?

Just got back from Albany 2 weeks ago, the guy probably didnt know how to cope with all the round-abouts and wanted out lol.

Best of luck fixing the car Kelvin, and selling it if youre still going down that path... Make sure forensics check out the car, see if the thief left any evidence in there

Glad its been found mate, its really good to see a club pull together like this congrats everyone, oh and kelvin, id love a ride in it when you get it back mate, or at least just stare at it a little lol.

but yeah stoked.

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of updates as my laptop was stolen as well so it's pretty hard coming onto the forums.

Anyway, the good news is that it's been found!! Received a call from the police at Albany police station to notify me that they've found my car. It was found at the side of some road in Albany. Asked about the condition and the cop told me it was "not too bad", just that the windows and stereo was taken out, maybe the electronic stuff as well. Will call them first thing in the morning tmr to find out the exact condition as well as arrange to bring it back to Perth where it belongs

Spoken to Kelvin, have let him know i spotted it at 11am yesterday morning while leaving albany heading home to perth.

Have also posted up on AlbanyModifiers to help kelvin out, someone should hopefully spot it, a very nice car nothing like it in albany.

fingers crossed for ya mate, chris

Big thx to chris who spotted my car along albany hwy which might have lead to the discovery of my car. Also to all those who had helped me spread the word in a matter of hours! Really touched to see the outpour of support from the car enthusiast community here in WA.

Big thanks once again to everyone. I will update you all on the condition once I have seen it in person. Also, could anyone please update the other car forums as well (ie perthwrx, silviawa, perthrotary, wahonda and others that I may have left out as I don't have an account with them) as I don't want to be chased and stabbed driving that car back!! haha

Anyway I will be looking to install a keypad alarm as well as a GPS tracking unit once I have it back and if anyone has any contacts for that pls let me know. Thanks!!

Cheers,

Kelvin

Kelvin,

Great news.

Mate get in touch with Nav (Onthehunt)

he has my POC of keypad and Sat tracking.

Thanks to all the SAU / Other Car Clubs involved that helped out during this event.

Makes me happy to know that guys will stick together.

Mike

Oh thats freakin awesome! I was scared they were just going to hide it in a garage and strip it to its bones!!!

Hopefully theyve done minimal damage. And hopefully the f***ers are caught...and shot.

Good luck with seeing it, i'm hoping for minimal damage for you!!!

Hey, Kelvin. Only just seen this, as I have not been on the forums much lately. Glad it has been found and I hope there is not too much hassle in getting it back up here and getting it fixed. So sorry to see it has happened to you - everyone has said such a nice car, but such a great guy too! Life ain't fair, at times.

GPS Alarm - the type that phones you when things are awry - I know that Danny at Imports 101 can get them fitted ... ... .... ... which I might just be doing very soon!

It sounds like the back of the truck to a good workshop fior a thorough check is the go. They sound like they were f#ckwits, but check they did not put sugar in the tank or any crap in the engine oil. If the Power FC is gone, I have the factory ECU from mine, which you could borrow, if that helps at all.

All the best, mate.

Cheers.

    • Which solenoid? Why was it changed? Again, why was this done? ...well, these wear..but ultimately, why was it changed? Did you reset the idle voltage level after fitment? I'm just a tad confused ~ the flash code doesn't allude to these items being faulty, so in my mind the only reason to change these things, would be some drive-ability issue....and if that's the case, what was the problem? Those questions aside, check if the dropping resistor is OK ...should be 11~14 ohms (TCU doesn't throw a flash code for this) ~ also, these TCU designs have full time power (to keep fault code RAM alive), and I think that'll throw a logic code (as opposed to the 10 hardware codes), if that power is missing (or the ram has gone bad in the TCU, which you can check..but that's another story here perhaps).
    • Question for people who "know stuff" I am looking at doing the new intake like the one in the picture (the pictured is designed for the OEM TB and intake plenum), this design has the filter behind the front bar, but, the filter sits where the OEM duct heads into the front bar, and the standard aperture when the OEM ducting is removed allows the filter to pulled back out of the front bar into the engine bay for servicing, a simple blanking plate is used to seal the aperture behind the filter This will require a 45° silicone hose from the TB, like the alloy pipe that is currently there, to another 45° silicone hose to get a straight run to the aperture in the front bar Question: how will it effect the tune if I move the MAF about 100-150mm forward, the red is around where my MAF is currently, and the green would be where it would end up Like this This is the hole the filter goes through  Ends up like this LOL..Cheers
    • Despite the level up question, actually I do know what that is....it is a pressure sender wire.  So check out around the oil filter for an oil pressure sender, or maybe fuel pressure near the filter or on the engine. Possibly but less likely coolant pressure sensor because they tend to be combined temp/pressure senders if you have one. Could also be brake pressure (in a brake line somewhere pre ABS) but maybe I'm the only one that has that on a skyline.
    • Pull codes via the self-diagnosis procedure. As far as I can tell this is just a sign of transmission issues but not a code unto itself.
    • Hi All, putting the engine back together and everything is perfect except have this plug left over.. any ideas what it is for and where it goes? Is on cold side under the intake plenum *note not a stock plug, as everything has been modified Cheers
