Floating Hat on Brake Disc

Hi Guys,

Just want to know what is the advantage of having floating hat on the disc brakes?

They seem more expensive and I was reading something the other day that you can keep them and just swap the disc.

Beside looking good and the colours what else do they do??

Can you actually keep them when you change the brake discs??

Lighter overall weight, better cooling due to the venting at the bottom and the top, and replacable disk while retaininging the hat

So does that mean the floating hat can be use with any disc or does it have to be the same brand.

That is like Apexi floating hat can't be use with Endless discs??

OR are they universal fit?

Floating hats also have the added benifit of suffering less warpping or something like that.

The temps where the surface is coming in contact with the pad will be much greater than at the centre when operating in extreme conditions. Something to do with metal expanding and cooling at differing rates from inside to outside of rotors.
