Hi all.

Regrettably I have to inform you all that Alan Calleja has decided to step down from his role as club Secretary due to time and personal constraints.

I would like to thank Al for the work he has done so far since being elected as the Secretary role isn’t and idle role that does require a bit of time investment, only those who have done it can truly appreciate that its sometimes a fairly hefty amount of work.

Moving forward you might ask… What does this mean?

There are several immediate impacts here that are unavoidable as per below.

1. Membership Applications - There will be some people who have applied for membership in the past week or two that could see their application take longer than advised notified 14 business days. Also those who apply over the next month or so might see a slight delay at times.

2. EGM - There could be a EGM called either in July or August.

Members should watch the forums closely and attend the EGM when it is called to help the club move forward.

In the interim Committee will try its best to have as little impact to memberships as possible, your understanding here would be appreciated if it does take a little longer to process over the next month or so.

I will sit down and have a think/chat with other Exec’s. Between us we will workout ‘where too’ from here to ensure the clubs best interests in the immediate future.

If any member out there would like to offer some interim help then please let us know by email: [email protected]

Also if you have any concerns (ie. Your membership is critical to you attending a track day next week), please also send an email to us about it: [email protected]

Thanks

Ash Cosgriff

President, SAU-Vic

Ash, i am willing to lend a hand in any way i can with admin type shit(keeping track of members etc)... was planning on signing up tomorrow anyway(tomorrow is payday!)

Guess this means membership wont be processed before DECA?

-Ryan

DECA is August my friend :)

Thats almost 2 months from now - i would most sincerely hope we do not run that far behind time with new memberships and i don't imagine it will draw out to such a timeframe as that. If we do - then, well, i got nothing hehe... but realistically it wont blow out that far.

I understand there might be some currently outstanding ones from the past 2-3 weeks, so they will probably take the largest hit.

but entries open in around 10days, do all the places get filled normally?

  • 3 weeks later...

All - I've been smashing through the memberships, renewals and so on...

Im almost upto date and will start posting them out today and over the next couple of days.

My apologies for not having them done sooner - i've had virtually every set back possible to slow me down in getting them done

There are approx 40 memberships i've worked through... and we are about to crack 600 members on the DB (over 350 active) since the club formed 5 years ago which is nothing short of astonishing and when the club was formed i certainly had no idea it would grow to this level this fast.

On the upside though we nearly have the SAU-Vic Membership DB fully online!!!

This will make committee work and memberships much faster overall so there is some good in the unfortunate delay.

Most people put them on whatever car!

Although i noticed last night while doing your online application - you have not actually paid yet.

Until you do i dont actually action your membership

If you believe you have, and wish to discuss - [email protected]

Ensure you include information that helps me look into it as well :bunny:

Now you might ask - why wasn't i notified?

See the membership person wont 'chase' people for their money. And in this case - thats my job among everything else

Reason being we receive a fair few applications online that we never see money for so there isn't much value in us chasing/processing as there is lots of time involved that often turns out to be wasted effort in the end.

Who signs up and doesn't pay lol?

Take your time Ash mate; I'm sure everyone (myself included, as a pending membership applicant) will understand how time consuming this can be and show patience where needed.

E-mailed.

I have paid, I paid for both DECA and SAU at once. I even got an email back saying it had been received. I'll just reply to that one with the original quoted beneath.

Oh, and thanks. I understand how busy you can be.

    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drive beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
