This probally should go into the events section but its better suited here..

as the subject says there is a demo of drifting at the next race meet between races at some point, im not exactly sure when ill hopefully find that out next week..

the date of the race meet is November 1 and 2, the reason for it, is the WASCC are seeing what sort of interest there is in it, eg if enough people turn up to watch it, and its a noticeable crowd they'll be gang busters to try running a drift series next year, WASCC being a company work on money in short, if they see theres a possible income for it, they'll go for it, simple, so the more people there, the more likely a series will be go..

The race meet is the enduro weekend with hqs, street cars and i think sport sedans/sports cars running 30 lap races..

on a side note, anyone got either 195 50 15" tyres or 205 45 16" tyres they don't need and want to off load?, i've used my stash up and need more :)

Denver, I'm all for more support for drift in WA, but I don't see Waneroo as being a circuit which really has much to offer in the way of drift. There are virtually no corners that you could link togethero I'm not sure how you would be able to do it? Either way I'll come along to watch and see how it goes:D

the short track join is pretty good for linking, drift up through shell which is the big left hander up the hill, flick it into the hair pin for short track, link the next corner, and then back onto the hill straight..

you could try linking the esses, but your a brace man if you try, the wall thee is to close ofr my liking

Well isn't that going to suck for spectators, as all those places can't be seen? The whole purpose of drift is to make a spectacle of the car going sideways around corners, not much point if no-one can see it.

I'm not trying to knock the idea, but I just don't think it's the right track for it.

not 100% sure on who's in the demo, will let you know later in the week..

however it seems the race meet is only one day according to the time table, and the demo is on the sunday nov 2 at 12:30

by looks there should be a good mix of cars tho, few of the normal nissan typres, maybe a sprinter, and the rex all going well

i only wish i could see the reactions on peoples faces when they clue into the rex being only RWD..

    • Mixing things up - installed some leather recaros to match the leather seat covered rear seats. Interior looks pretty schmick now except for some slight wear on the steering wheel which I will monitor and address if it becomes worse or actually noticeable!

    • I'm normally copping my own abuse from neglecting my daily drivers. "Those suspension bushes will last a bit more", "Don't worry about the oil leak, just keep topping it up". The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
    • The best part is when you own the car long enough that you look back and find your OWN ham fisted amateur shit!
