You need to clean that glass man!! Windex on the outside and a paint scraper on the inside to take of the stubborn algae.. Also what filter you using as you have a 4x2x2, (same tank as me) cause there are heaps of particles floating in the water.

I hope your windex doesnt go in the water..

Yea i normally use a razor or something to clean the glass. Havnt done it in a while. Will do it over the weekend!!

I use a skimmer :P I just fed the fish and turned the powerheads off, and turned it back on so things were floating around. Dont worry the particles arent gonna do anything. You wont notice it after a while once it settles.

Whats in your tank?

Nah man, you just spray the windex at the bottom mid section of the glass then use newspaper and wipe of all the water and salt marks..

I'm keeping blue moba frontosa in my 4x2x2 and i have a colony of L134 catfish in a 3ft tank. :P

Thanks man.. Just curious as to why pic 2?

Sure you wanna know? :P

In the first pic the fish looks trapped form lack of leading space. Dirty glass (or stuff in water - not sure) is distracting. And would be better with the bottom where you can see the tank cropped. Shadow at bottom is also distracting.

(actually seeing tank might be ok if the shadow wasn't there)

Third pic is actually really good IMO but yeah - plants are not really that exciting

Hence number 2 is my fav - more leading space would have been nice here also but like the detail in the fish ;)

I know nothing about freshwater, but those fish do look cool tho.. They seem pretty big in size!! Nicely captured with the pictures :)

Oh man it just point and shoot and resize lol.. Wasn't trying to get composition correct etc etc.. Plus i have to shoot like 1-2meters away from the tank.. As the only lens i have is a 70-200. I just wanted to show off my clam!!

They are corals man.. not plants lol.. Sorry had to correct you. As there is a big difference :( hehe

But yea hopefully i will get the glass cleaned over the weekend. You cant even notice it when your looking at it. Its the camera that picks up every minor detail.

anyways thanks for that feedback :)

Thing that should be in everyones bag = 70-200. You don't even need a camera. Just the lens. Take it to lunch and dinner, treat it well.Don't hurt it's feelings! :P

yeah ive got a 70-200 2.8 but i think there is something wrong with it - it cant take good pics

Really?

wanna give it away to me? since its a crap lens and all and cant take good pics?? pretty please  heheh

nah nah whats wrong with it?

Btw anyone finding the IS motor inside noisy?

its a sigma lens with a nikon mount so doubt it would be very useful for you tbh :P

as for whats wrong - no idea :( just cant take a sharp photo - it always comes out blurry

i am going to do some testing to see if it gets better/worse at different focal lengths

and then if it gets better/worse at different apertures but i think something inside is stuffed

i.e. a one of the elements isn't quite strait or something

(dont know much about what can go wrong with a lens)

Lepper - Well as many say you can always go f/4 with a 2.8 but you can never go 2.8 with a f/4  What you need is what you should get but that extra stop is always nice :P

Zennon - Your lens possibly front/back focussing? Does your camera have micro adjustment? That would be my guess. Also what are your settings when you take a photo? Softness at 2.8 is not uncommon with the Sigma’s. There QC is terrible.

Sidd – IS motors are like that, there is nothing to be worried about!

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
