Thats exactly what Racepace told me when I asked them about building me a mines style front pipe with a 450awkw goal with my new engine. Bummer was that they couldnt make the pipe for me without me sending the car down to them though, seeing as all systems are custom made to fit.

Funny timing here.

Im having exactly that made up for my GTR, a Mines style front pipe in 2 x 3" leading to a 4" merge, its custom to accommodate the extra height. Is yours the same height as an RB30 block?

If so, it would work out perfectly for you as mines being used as a template. I can see about getting another one made up and ship it to you if you like.

Thanks for the offer but the spacer is only 20mm a stock RB26. I think RB30's are nearly 40mm taller.

I like your style too. Nothing will solve flow issues like a 4" front pipe!

rb30 = 38mm taller.

how many posts has there been in the past 15min haha

Haha no probs mate

Cheers :(

actually, my brother has twin pipes on his gtr, its an 'n1' cat-back system, i think its 3inch as well.

factory engine & sounds very tough/poppy BUT i havent heard his engine kick over for way more than a year now hehe (dont ask)

I was talking last night about this, if the price isnt too bad, ive decided to make both exhausts and see which one ends up being better, then selling the other one (as they'll both flow huge numbers anyway)

There may be a BIG HP twin 3" RB30 on this Saturday's cruise :(

Oh yeah? And to think I was going to go to Wakefield instead.....if you confirm how much power is "BIG HP" that could persuade me to come along :P

....i have a thought who it may be, its auto or manual?

OK...VERY VERY BIG HP :(

Mark, it's the NSW:SAU Putty Rd Cruise.

Oh, and it's members only....but you can join on the day :(

PS, Steve, it is manually shifted :D

ok, just measured my front pipes & they're 2.75inch which merges into a 3.5inch pipe.

i spoke to westside mufflers & the cost is $2200 for a 4inch s/s system which also includes modifying the front pipe collector to a 4inch pipe...bit pricey i thought, any other workshops recommended?

lol, ok next guess; is it twin 3037's?

I know its not your car hahaha

Your fronts are those xforce ones you were talking about?

I have the HKS ones, they're roughly the same size - id go check but no veniers

That price isnt that bad, but i know you can do better!

im not sure what they are, could be xforce or hks, how can i tell? could be hks to match the rest of the hks system, fark knows!

i called liverpool exhaust, custom 3inchfront pipes to merge into 4 inch all the way to rear is as follows:

- mild steel with ceramic coating (the whole thing) = 4k

- s/s (the whole thing) = $4400

- 4inch mild without front pipes = $2200 (westside is the same @ $2200 but its s/s)

he recommends i go mild steel with ceramic coating but to coat the entire thing is a bit of overkill, thoughts?

apparentely mild steel is more flexible for knocks & bumps, more suited for our great aust roads!

No, it's definitely not my car - it only made 411rwkw on 16 psi a few years ago now

:(

Oh, and it's the Bells Line Of Rd Cruise, not Putty Rd (which is end of year). Same meet point though.

$2,200 is a bit steep. Last time I bought 4" 316 stainless it cost me $45-50 each bend. Exhausts would be 304 grade. I could get a twin 3" done for under $2,000.

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
