Hi guys,

Just thought I'd introduce myself to you all on here as i plan to use this forum alot in the near future!. While i have not been a long time owner of a stagea, I have been a long time admirer of the off it and reader of this site.

Recently, through Ben lippa at j-spec, i purchased a 1999 Series two stagea, rs 4. I wont say to much, as they say; pictures tell a thousand words...

I thought the interior was pretty clean myself...

Anyway, the car leaves Japan on the 14th, so it wont be until mid august that i get to see and drive her in all its glory, but shit balls i cannot wait! Already have a few small things asethic wise things that i want done to the car, the next issue is to overcome financial barriers haha.

Well let us know what you think, and once i have her dancing and prancing around, i would love to meet up with some other Brissy/qld stagea owners and get to know ya's. I live in the cleveland area and frequently see a black series 2 going around... anyone on here?

Thanks Scott :)

well ill be de-stressing my self surfing in bali for two of the next 4 weeks, so i guess i have to stop complaining at some point. But yeah that wait will still suck when i get back.

If you notice the tailgate looks like a slighty different colour..bad rematch? would my best option be cutting and polishing the entire car, as it clearly needs one and hoping it comes up to stratch with the boot. To me, the boot looks the right colour(Must of been painted recently <3 years) while the car has faded..What do you guys think?

Well what can i say, first of all on driving it.... Very impressed to say the least. But after only 1 hr of driving i already have this twitch starting in my right shoulder that wants a bigger turbo.. beats me :S. haha

Its a super comfortable car to drive, and i also know what you guys are talking about now when you say a shift kit was one of the best mods you guys have done.

On the car: Well it needs a professional cut and polish and the rust bug has got me in both sides under the mirrors, but thats all as far as i can see. Quite substantial on the drivers side mind you(any ideas on cost to fix?),

The is also some dodgey looking touchup jobs that have been done but overall i think its a great car, thats only oweing me 9.3 grand minus onroads. Heres some pictures after a once over with the hose and a bit of shampoo.

Congrats on the car.

I also purchased through Ben @ J spec going back to Nov 07, got the car on the road Feb 08.

Never had a problem. Great car.. Mine had the Rust under the mirrors too..

That rust under the passenger mirror is so common that I've never heard of a C34 NOT having rust there. Not sure why but my old s2 never had rust on the driver side, only the passenger side, and yet for all I could see the mirror/body shape were identical on either side.

They fixed it in the M35 thankfully FWIW.

Awesome, well done :D First drive always leaves a lasting impression. I also got my S2 stag through Ben @ J-Spec back in December '07.

/\ umm :/ no rust on mine yet... I am worried though... anything that can be done to stop it before it happens? Guess I gotta pull them off and look for the sponge...

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
