omega36
Hey guys. I've noticed that since about yesterday, my oil pressure reading is looking rather low from what it is usually. I'm not getting the warning light, however, it's sitting within the closer half to the 0 and first mark point on idle (warm engine), and it's not moving much when revs climb (even up to 4-5k RPM). I only notice this difference now because previously the reading moves a fair bit with different revs, and it's certainly obviously higher pressure at a cold start, but it doesn't seem to be reading near the same now? I have checked for any leaks, oil level is fine (checked 4H after the engine was last run). Oil temps are normal too. Apparently the stock gauge is not super accurate, so should this not be trusted? I'm not noticing any other issues when driving either. My current setup is: New R33 crank (not sure if worth mentioning), N1 Oil Pump, a stock sump with a Tomei baffle plates and a Tomei 1.5mm restrictor to the head. Your advice is appreciated - I am a bit paranoid about this, since my motor spun a bearing last year, and I've spent quite a fair bit on my new setup (only 3 months old). Cheers! R31Nismoid
Get it checked ASAP either way, i wouldn't be driving it personally with a built motor as well... get it towed - sensor checked/replaced and go from there. Wont hurt to change it or put something aftermarket on anyhow Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/278484-oil-pressure-concern/#findComment-4705611 Share on other sites
