Hey guys, I was wondering if someone could fill me in on some specs in a car that 'merged' past me the other day. I was in a Porsche Boxter S sitting at a set of Traffic lights in Lane Cove.

The only things I got a glimpse of before being laughed at by twin rubber lines, was that it was a dark blue, with a red roll cage. The owner seemed to be a youngish sort of guy? Sorry it's so vague, but it's all I can remember

And before you ask, I'm not police or anything, and I don't want names or anything like that, I'd just love to know what that 32 has under it's hood and what it's making at the treads.

The Porsche I was in does the 1/4 in high 13s, and it was beaten sufficiently.

Any ideas?

Cheers!

no regulars on this forum spring to mind immediately when you say blue r32 with red rollcage.

maybe if you went back to where you saw him last on the same day next week and around the same time you might see him again? lol shot in the dark really.

I'll move this thread to the NSW section as they may be better equipped to help you.

Lane Cove hey?

Im from there too - but this GTR/skyline doesnt sound familiar, lately I have found a few lines that arent actually forum members on here, so now its hard to see who is who!

I'll keep an eye out though for sure!

I see a dark blue 2 dr R32 everyday at about 7.30am in regents park heading to god only knows. I cant remember seeing a red roll cage but I do remember seeing a large front mount which could mean he is running lots of boost. It wasn't a gtr though.

I know enough about cars to recognise a 32 against an s15

Yeah it was a mates Boxtster S, but they're not a bad kit of car at all. It's got great throttle responce down load, and a beauiful engine noise right behind your ear, albiet no spooling or BOV's. But for cruising around it's fantastic with the rood down through some twisties.

And for the record I'm not the slightest bit ashamed of being flogged, I'd just like to know how badly i got beaten power wise! I'd kill to own something like that sklyline. And btw nice miata in the Cove, I also own one, you up at the plaza often? Haven't seen it around?

Porsche Boxter S? they're nuggets!

I had some 'fully sick' bloke with his gf in the car take me down Parramatta Road, I left him for dead in my old RB20DET 180SX.

That wouldn't be a slow car!

boxters can do 13's?????????

Yeah I'm failry sure it's like 13.9 for the Boxter S. Though that figure would probably be absolute perfection driving.

The search continues...

That wouldn't be a slow car!

She was slow, alot of show, not that much go.. only made 190kws at the wheels, nothing special.

You might have seen it before, LP2 Midnight Purple 180SX with GP Sports body kit with the plates SKY-180, a blonde chic owns it now :)

Sadly not, but I'll keep my eyes peeled! My Miata makes a blistering 82kw at the wheels! I think a snail on the pavement beat me off the lights the other day. Left a nice thick black line underneath and a lot of shell smoke. I also get beaten by those scooters old people use!

you muppets are as useful as tits on a bull.

guy comes in here asking if you've seen or know of an r32 skyline matching his description, and you guys turn it into some epic discussion of your favourite line vs your favourite porsche vs your favourite fords now?

stick to the topic or GTFO. start a new topic if you wanna bash porsches or Group A or whatever the hell else.

I live in lane cove mate, have not seen one. Dark blue is a very rare colour from factory. I believe the GTR which came in blue in the R32 was only made 100 times, GTST would be no doubt the same. Unless sprayed but dunno why you would spray it blue.

You sure its a R32?

Saying that its not hard or expensive to make a R32,33 or 34 move abit faster than 13's Unlike the Porka which is quite costly. Ive smoked alot of Porkas.

Hey weapon, right? I came on that cruise with u down to the beaches that night - the red miata was mine, I'm mates with Chris from the foot.

Yeah deff was a 32, positive about it. How's your rig running?

i too live in lane cove. haven't seen the car you speak of. the boxster S surely is quick. but how old is the car? my old man drives a 911 and over time the thing has lost some power and doesnt quite accellerate these days like it would have when it was brand new.

    • That's not a transistor --- it's marked ZD1 which makes it a zener diode. As to what the breakdown voltage is, not enough there to divine.
    • Hi all, Long time since I've posted here. Looking for some advice on what I can remove to further identify the cause of my issues.  I can move the passenger seat forward and back but the knob used to adjust the seat angle is pretty much free spinning, there's very little resistance.  Removing the side cover I can see that the chain is intact but the shaft for the adjustment spins without the gear attached to it moving.  What's my next step for disassembly here? Is this a common fault? Just being a little cautious as I didn't want to start removing bolts for a spring to fly out or something equally as stupid.  Cheers
    • The incentives are mostly the same, yes. Ethanol is cheap compared to the cost of doing 98-100 RON with crude oil alone. 87 to 93-94 AKI all with E10. In 2020 Canada mandated E10 as a part of their "renewable fuel standard" and is supposedly going to go to E15 in 2030. In California where there are only 8 refineries with two threatening to shut down next year it's been over 20 years now of E10 and 91 AKI maximum because there's just not enough refinery capacity or crude oil supply relative to the demand for premium unleaded fuel. And CARB's low carbon fuel standard means functionally none of the diesel available at the pump is made from crude oil anymore. It's almost all entirely 20% biodiesel blended with 80% renewable diesel (hydrotreated vegetable oil) now. The number of gasoline vehicles that support E15 or higher ethanol concentrations is surprisingly low, I can't imagine it being wise to play tricks like this without flex fuel sensors in most of the fleet.

    • South Australia, which is hardly as far behind as the rest pf Oz makes out, and who is also not a paragon of progressiveness (read that as over-legislation) in the area of vehicle standards, has this to say on the subject: Adjustable coil-over suspension Aftermarket adjustable coil-over suspension components are suspension units that incorporate an external thread on the main body and corresponding threaded spring saddle that allows the vehicle's suspension height to be varied. If fitting aftermarket or coil-over suspension components you must submit an Application to modify a light motor vehicle form and a report from a light vehicle engineering signatory (LVES).
