I just got a Power FC and want to test a Z32 AFM that I think may be dodgy on it.

What I need to know is whether the voltage displayed in the monitor section is the actual voltage or modified voltage. To explain it better if you were to run a eManage Ultimate and then monitor AFM voltage through consult then it won't be displaying the actual voltage, it will be displaying the voltage adapted to the ECU.

Cheers,

Adrian

One more question, this Power FC was running on a car with exact same mods as mine(RB20, GTR injectors, HKS2530, Z32 AFM etc) and had a pretty good tune so I was hoping to just get it checked to make sure tune was safe.

However I have just put it in and turned key to on(car is not currently able to run) and 'R32 Standard' was highlighted in the AFM settings. Also I noticed all injectors were set to 100% and no timing changes.(I would have thought instead of 100% it should be 440/270 so somewhere around 60%)

Could this have been tuned in some other way(just changing a/f settings to make up for the change in AFM and injectors)? If so do any Power FC Gurus know some points in the standard map that would have to be changed so I could check and see if this is the case?

Cheers,

Adrian

the guy has probably reset it, you should reset it when you install it in your car anyway

i would be very cautious running someone else tune, even with the same mods

could be a timebomb, and it may time longer to fix someone else;s tune than a complete tune

i dont get your real vs actual, it will just display the voltage on the AFM wire

Yeah don't worry was always planning on getting a touch up tune straight away to ensure its safe.

Pretty much answers my question. What I meant was is the 'monitored' signal the actual voltage coming from the AFM or is it modified by the Power FC and then shown. My eManage example is because that is what I was originally going to get and it modifies the signal before it reaches the standard ECU. Obviously the Power FC as standalone so I wasn't sure whether it showed the actual value or a value modified based on which AFM you select.

the voltage displayed under ETC, SENSOR SW CHECK and MONITOR, 1 CHANNEL, AIRFLOW is the unadjusted voltage

the PFC doesn't adjust the voltage as part of the tune, it uses the base voltage in arithmetic like this;

SELECT LOAD from AIRLFOW TABLE

WHER VOLTAGE = Lookup(AFM1)

then it applies correction to the load index and goes from there.

the voltage is never adjusted by the ECU, why would it?

only interceptors modify voltage inline like you said as this is the only way
