We have just got in from Perth having been guests of JPC and Northside Nissan at one of their GTR Experience Track Days. Even though the weather was a bit grumpy there were over a dozen new R35s out there getting on the challenging Barbagallo blacktop for the first time. Both myself and Keir want to thank Nathan and Danny for letting us drive their superbly modified GTR on what would have to be one of the most technical tracks in the country. It certainly was a blast!

In mutual admiration I want to thank Martin and Keir from Willall for coming to Perth and sharing the love and teaching us a thing or two about making the GTR go harder for longer. Danny needed the help with the harder for longer that is for sure. Danny also reclaimed his rib eating title in my absence and brought and a few young girls to the point of chundering in a drift car.

A great couple of days - thanks boys

here are some more pics from a recent GTR Owners Track Day run by Northside Nissan here in Perth. It is a credit to the Dealer principal here who has the passion and the understanding to know his product and his market.

You will notice that the wheels sit out a bit wider and fill the guards a bit better on the JPC GTR as we spaced it out a bit for the track day to try something different. It also looks a bit lower with the Mines Eibach Springs.

You will notice that there are cars lined up for drags and LCT testing. Much fun was had by all.

Loving the car.

Thanks to Willall Racing the JPC GTR has just had a few more upgrades.

We have changed out the standard Transmission Fluid for the Willall Racing fluid. Also installed the Willall Racing High Volume Sump. Now takes close on 8 litres of oil. My past experience with GTR's suggests that this will be one of the best improvements that I will make to the car.

I have attached a pic of the Cobb accessport that we will start playing with. Hopefully we will use it to lean out the safe tune that is in the Mines Type X ECU in the car now.

Loving the car

    • First time visitor and currently getting ready to start work on my HK Premier.  Its all stock, 186 with 3 on the tree.  The only mod i have right now is extractors.  I am hoping to get some guidance on slightly modifying the engine to bring a little more power. Just going for a nice, comfortable cruiser.  The car is very straight, however i have been out of the country for 20 years and its been gathering dust at a family farm.  Will be doing quite a bit of body work to cut out some small rust areas (frnt quarter panels and a few other small bits) and fix up the paint.  Will be redoing the interior (its currently black and the seats are in real need of recovering and respringing the driver side (its front bench seat).  The dash needs a little TLC, but no real damage.  As my heater has degraded I am considering fitting something after-market that will be both heater/AC (recommendations here are always welcome). Wanting something discrete that will allow me to use the same controls and not be obvious once inside the car.   For the engine, i have been told i could consider upgrading my cam (imagine i would need a new head as well) and putting a new carby (currently the original stromberg).  However not sure what is going to be the best route.  Would certainly welcome any comments/suggestions.  As  a final step I am looking at changing the wheels. Current hubcaps are in dire need of refurbishment or replacement (imagine its a bit like hens teeth).  Thinking of some clean/classic looking mags (7-inch should be more than enough - not going for a large change in look).  Welcome any comments/advice and of course any questions.
    • I got the ARC M079 due to the space constraint.  Been running mint for the last 3 years.  Plazmaman also seems like a really solid choice but not used myself.    Hunt around for a better price but this is what I have - https://www.rhdjapan.com/arc-brazing-intercooler-smic-m079-bnr32.html
    • Wanted to follow up on this. Did you end up getting the M073? Still deciding on what to get between nismo m073-79 and plazaman.
    • I was just watching these boys up in QLD AWD'ing their S13 too.
    • Por que no los dos? At least my euro brawler is reliable - unlike the JDMs I've had. Sheraaz you look familiar, did you ever come to an SAU VIC meet aaaaaages ago?
