Hey guys

i want to replace the fuel filter on my Fuel Pump. It looks like a little white sock / filter thing.

Anyone have a part number for this item or know where i can get a replacement one?

I know that nissan say that it is a non serviceable item, however, i want to be able to put a new one in for peace of mind when i install my new fuel pump

Cheers

-Mark

Have you got the new fuel pump yet?

Last time i replaced one was on an evo. The new pump (walbro) actually came with a new one of those white sock filter things...

That is not the fuel filter as such.. there is usually another one somewhere in the car.

hey guys thanks for the suggestions. on my trip today and total waste of time, i have found that for future reference:

1. as zei said, there is no engine fuel filter. only the sock strainer thing. however there is a filter in the tank which the fuel pump itself sits in, its a massive white one. i tried to buy one from repco, both X-Trail and Maxima ones did not match the V35 one. I went to Nissan and they said it only comes complete with a new fuel pump, which from them costs $1100. ouch!

2. the stock fuel pump is very easy to get to. under your rear seat on the drivers side.

3. my car is fine, and i got worried for nothing all because of a stupid dyno readout. :P

4. i saved money on buying a new fuel pump woo~!

5. my car made approx 8-9kw extra with the motordyne plenum spacer and the intake tube over a stock VQ35DE which is about a 12hp increase, which seems about right.

Just want to know how hard is it to replace the fuel pump back to the spot without stuff things up??...on a CVT sedan ofcoz.

I just had a 80,000k major service at CBD nissan.......its been over 2 week and back to them with petrol leakage under the body.

they said it was the O-ring on the fuel pump as it curved when they place it back on the first time...

second time they said they applied some "glue" to stop the leak - but still leaking....and had to leave the car there for 2 days to get it done

now just found out the car still leaking petrol for the third time....just send the car back to nissan.....plus sniffing petrol emission out from the back seat while driving over 2 weeks ...

is this like a common issue? is really that hard to replace the o-ring/fuel pump back to the original spot?

bro suspecting they might replaced incorrect part on the fuel pump/filter causes the leak.

what happens is the o ring will swell up which it probalby has when it has come in contact with the petrol they have spilled onto it.

you will need to replace the whole o ring it only costs a few measly bucks if they are serioulsy GLUING the oring down WTF??? take your car elsewhere

    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
