Last night my front personalised plate was stolen off my car from out front of my place at Alexandra Heads.

"GTS R33" - Black Plate with White Writing

If anyone has info about this please PM me. I have already reported it stolen to the police.

Any help would be appreciated.

f*k bro i was just in sunny coast, and i seen your car with those plates. Pretty sure that was your white 33 with the sau sticker on the rear quarter panel.

yes that is me, they just ripped it right off.

what is the law on driving with 1 plate .... on the rear and not on the front

I seen it parked up along side on the hill somewhere along coolum beach (sorry have no idea on areas in sunny coast). Hopefully you didnt park your car there mate, cuz it sticks right out.

I think its 350 fine or something like that for not showing the front plates, I cant remember exactly the price, but i know for sure its a illegal to drive without front plates.

It is always parked there and i have never had any problems until the past week. It has been egged twice. I have been told who it was but cant do anything as I dont have proof, this guy drives a ford and hates imports. Him and mates egged cars including a merc that reported them to police, but nothing was done. All I can do now is wait and hope for the best.

Hey man, i had my plates stolen a few years back, i know who did it, but thats besides the point. anyway i reported it to cops and had to fork out for another set of plates. what the police did was nothing, and just put a flag on my plates as "STOLEN" so for the next 3 years when driving round, id get pulled up for no reason coz the plates were flagged and harassed by the cops, after a while i got sick of it and blew up at the cops told them i wanted him to go back to the station and remove the flag from my plates, as it was bullshit. I havent been picked on since. i know your pain man, its a pain in the arse, the only thing you can do is pay for replacement plates and get some good secirty screws on there. but if they ripped them off, not alot is going to stop them taking them. being where u live man, i can bet it was some drunk wankers walking home from the clubs or something. thats the usuall story behind it. i can garauntee that they will either be up on somebodys wall as an ornament or disposed of down the road soemwhere in a bush or bin. il keep an ear out anyway for you, but unless police actually go into the place for some other reason and find your plates in there, then i dont like your chances of getting them back.

Cheers

Darren

yeah because a replacement plate will cost $1150

No but thats what 1 plate cost, which i have already paid for. Plus now I have to repay about $440 to have them remade.

$2295 - initial plate cost ($1150 each)

$440 - replacement cost

$2735 - total amount paid to have a pair of plates.

If something of yours you paid for was stolen you have lost that value of money since you have parted with that money and have nothing to show for it.

If you pay to get another its an extra expense.

I dont see any sense in your sarcasm.

Id just get a set of new personliased plates but not prestige mate.

Spend $440 or somethen and get "AHR33" OR "HAR33" OR "AHH33"

if you sound it out its just R33 which is pretty sweet. Im still saving :P

Whoever stole your plates is a complete loser who obviously has nothing better to do with there life. what a c***

Yep same as me, I still get pulled over in relation to my R34 that was stolen 4 years ago....it's super fun! The bizzare bit is I wasn't pulled over for a good 3 years, it's the past year where I'm getting nailed a lot.

    • The alloy coolant reservoir has a sight glass, so as long as I can see coolant in the sight glass it's GTG, as for PS, it isn't anything catastrophic if it gets low, and as it hasn't lost a drop since I have owned the car I cannot see it being an issue, even after putting the "big block" 2.5 in....LOL The only time it gets slightly messy is at oil changes, as the oil filter sits above the frame, and I need to use a plastic bottle with its bottom cut off to catch the flow when loosening the filter
    • Good on you for taking on the job, but it is a big one. Even if you have bolt on manifold and turbo, you will need: Post throttle pressure source to boost controller to wastegate (and FPR, and ECU/MAP sensor) Pre throttle pressure source to top of BOV(s) Oil feed - you can take that from the standard port in the middle of the block Oil return to block under the turbo - this is much trickier than it seems to route a decent/wide pipe past the manifold. You really can't use rubber hose because it is way too hot there, and also the oil out of the turbo core is a bit frothy so it needs to have a decent diameter Water feed - you can take that from the standard port in the rear of the block. Water return - mine runs to a T into the heater box return, just make sure you don't create a high point making bleeding hard. All of those lines should use 200 series style teflon braided hose with heat shielding because everything needs to be routed past the manifold. Also a turbo beanie is a really good idea to minimise the chance of the car catching fire (under bonnet lining in particular) You also need to decide a cam cover breathing solution as well, will you vent externally via a catch can (probably illegal) or return to the intake (plumbing required and can oil up everything over time) Keep in mind the intake and exhaust piping in the engine bay will be custom so you either need to be able to fab ally and steel or have someone you can get a car that isn't running to. Get the wideband fitting welded into the dump pipe at the same time. Also, just my opinion, a screamer pipe attracts attention and doesn't add power, I'd plumb it back if you want to be allowed to keep the car on the road. BTW do you know anything about how healthy the motor is, and what power you are targeting? Doubling or tripling the factory power on an unknown motor is a little risky. Also fuel system will need some attention (pumps, high current hanger, direct power and earth feed, injectors etc)
