yeah but the price of r33 gtst is going so low that when i want to sell my car again i will get back less for it

i can probably get more for the r34GT than for the R33GTST. thats one of the reason i want to get teh R34GT coz its the same price as the R33GTST from another state and the R34GT can sell for more when i am ready to buy the R34GTT

You really are probably better off just saving up instead of switching and switching again, as cars will always lose money, not to mention the transfer costs and insurance set ups... the good thing about a car that isn't worth as much is that it can't drop much in value.

Good luck whichever you chose!

yeah still deciding what to do...

btw, can someone help me out with the VIN. i asked the seller for the VIN details and ENGINE number.

i did a RAWS search(whatever it means) lol and it came up with the following compliance details.

can anyone explain to me what it means? or if there is any important information?

here is the link to the page -

Cheers.

my opinion, far too much of a head fu# buying from eastern states. sure u might save urself 2-3k originally then u can throw on the costs of getting it here, registering (may take more than once), new emission test which can (as ppl say) cost round $2000, all the phone calls, guy might strip parts before transport, u've never driven the car, might be a dud etc etc, just not worth it.

then again, up to you.

^^

It was just complianced recently, its stock, so rego wont be hard.

Its naturally aspirated, so it doenst need to do an emmisions test under any condition.

Transport is 1000-1500 region at the most.

The guy is either going to sell the car, or half a car, he can't sell it, take half the parts, then send it, well, he could, but he wouldnt.

i brought my car from nsw. From a dealer thou so it made things alot easier and safer. I did fly over to inspect myself and also had a independant 210 point mechanical check. Transport was $1200. I'm sure you can get a good one locally and save time money ahd hassle. Mine is a vspec II so not many around in wa and for the price i paid had no choice but to fly over. But as mentioned before if you really must then get the inspection booked first pay then drive to depo.

    • So for the wide band is a Bosch 4.9 correct for the Link G4+ along with a Can bus? Just get the Link gear or is generic ok too? Eg here: LINK LINK DIGITAL WIDEBAND CAN MODULE WITH BOSCH 4.9 SENSOR : KYP Performance House
    • Bit difficult to follow. Have a look below and see what the standard R32 layout was like. Note there was a restrictor in place immediately before "turbocharged pressure control solenoid" that, if removed, magically got you 1 bar boost.
    • I might be way off the mark here.. there must be a T junction under the manifold. That takes manifold pressure through a check valve prior to the T, one side splits out to this bleed off orifice, the other straight to the wastegate actuators.
    • Carrying out some engine due diligence before my first drive in a 260RS that has been in storage for 10+ years, and found two lines that are susposed to be plumbed into the boost control solenoid. One of the lines (the wastegate boost supply line) to actuate the gates, had a bolt in one end blocking it. The other line (main boost signal line) from the very rear of the intake manifold (RB26DETT) and runs up to the boost controller had this pill in the end of it as seen in photos. Other than the obvious (T28 Ceramic turbos might well be cooked)  Can anyone shed any light on if there is any validity at all with this mod, bleeding a constant fixed rate of manifold boost pressure off through this 3mm hole?  Is it deliberate?  Was this a 90s Jap mod done to RB26's? Or has someone just fitted this without any idea of what happens to ceramic T28s if they are not gate controlled?
