hey menios, depending on the exact mix of events, something like a clio can be a top 10 chance too - the NSW event had heaps of wet skidpans, and big hp RWD cars get caned in events like that unless they have traction control.

mmm, FULL RACE 32 GTR....not a bad idea :)

appartently it will be under the xmas tree. not much use if I'm, still in Alice :D

BTW good interest so far, 11 names, that would be a great representation for SAU. Anyone else interested?

np Zane, there is no requirement for fireproof clothes so bikinis are OK.

Dan, I'm sure Kel will be in that, they'll probably have more luck with sponsors than the rest of us put together lol

I'll be back as event photographer again next year for both events - as well as the Mt Buller Sprint, so if anyone wants some sponsor images - let me know..

mmm, I didn't see those girls at the NSW Dutton?

Apart from that Jason's put together some great pics from the Dutton for us....

And we've got another 150 high res photos as well, great for exposure for our sponsors....

  • 1 month later...

I was just speaking to Anthony Moss (NSW Director) today and he said that he already had nearly half the field confirmed for this years event. There has been no advertising or promotion of this years event, (they have been concentrating on the Porsche Mt Buller Sprint (on this weekend) and the response and confirmation has been enormous so far.

NSW Event

4th to 6th June 2004

VIC Event

8th to 10th August 2004

Official NSW launch will be in the next couple of weeks and the website will be updated etc. - so make sure you get in early as they will start to flood in as advertising starts and more people become aware of the event.

VIC Event

Slight error - Vic is 6th to 8th August 2004!

I'm in talks currently to be possibly SAU's only Vic representative! I've been in contact with Sam Beck from VicDutton and I'll get my car onto the track (Phillip Island) for the first time Feb 15. If everything goes well then I'm very keen to give it a shot.

And if so I might have to come up to Syd and have a chat to you all during NSWDutton for some extra tips.

Cheers. :P

    • Hi all,   anyone know where I can pick one of these up for a reasonable price? I just resprayed my rear trunk due to fuel stain and my new muse spat install.    added a photo for some content 🤣👍   thanks
    • Consider a 35 too...
    • He's right ~ there is no 'magic' with stuff like this ... it is more likely that in the process of looking for the short, the loom/wire 'incidentally' got moved in the process, thus removing the short ~ now, that maybe a wire (in a loom) rubbing against the edge of some grounded metal, that's worn through the insulation, causing the (now intermittent) short to ground. If one wire in a loom has been damaged in this fashion, it's reasonable to presume that other wires beside it may have also be damaged, and now exposed...you can bet the green crusty copper corrosion will start... ...that'd be a pisser, Murphy's Law steps right in as GTS observes...but worse, something like that is easier to find when shorted...ie; unplug bulb and fuse, and put multimeter in continuity mode so you get constant beep, and carefully poke about hoping to find if some movemet of the harness stop the beeping.... ...it's still all a bit Arnie tho' ..It'll be back... 😃
    • Yeah, but knowledge of one wire's insulation worn through to short on earth implies the possibility of other wires doing the same. I had my power steering die, because the wire that runs to the solenoid valve on the rack runs in the same loom as the power wire for the O2 sensor. And when the O2 sensor/wire did something stupid and burnt part of that loom to death, the only indication was the shit(ter) fuel economy and the heavy steering. It took deep excavation of the looms in the bay to find the problem. Not wear through in that case, but similar shit.
    • Ah, I thought he'd wired it to one of the spare ECU inputs! Too long ago since I read that post, ha ha. I've been arguing with radiators, harmonic balancers, alternators and rust since reading it.
