newboost
I have a r33 s2 (auto) and have just built the jaycar variable boostcontroller (kc5438) and need some help in finding the wires that i need to cut in order to put the kit in. Instructions say that i need to cut the wire from the ecu that goes to the factory boost solenoid . This wire goes into the kit and a ouput wire connects to the factory solenoid. Has anyone used this kit and is it worth it's money. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/283931-jaycar-boost-controller/ Share on other sites
markdem
just bought the same kit. tried installing it thru the wires that u use to trick the solenoid into full boost and i got no result, just a flat 5psi. KiwiRS4T
The jaycar boost controller works very well. It needs to be set up properly so study the instructions carefully. There is a comprehensive thread here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ja...tro-t61207.html Connections are best made at the ecu (although you can connect under the bonnet if you wish). You will need a pinout diagram for your vehicle and then connect to: 1. A power source 2. An earth 3. You need to T into the line (i.e. do not cut the line but simply join to it) to an injector (any one will do although people generally choose no 1) 4. Goes to the boost solenoid - if you already have a boost solenoid you need to cut the wire and replace the signal from the ecu with the signal from the jaycar Iebc - if you don't have a solenoid (e.g. R32 RB20) you will have to get one. If you haven't got time to read the above thread (although it's well worth a read) send me an email and I will attach some detailed instructions. R3N3
youll find an ecu pinout diagram here i used pinout: 101 - injecter for cyl 1, and like kiwiRS4T said, make sure you just splice into this cable, DO NOT CUT IT 25 - boost control valve, and this is the opposite as above, do not splice, but cut the wire from the ecu 49 - +12v, splice into this cable 50 - ground, also splice into this cable make sure you double check these, just in case. i used all 4 from the ecu just so i could make the install a bit neater. have a look throught the thread that sydneykid started (the link that kiwiRS4T has in his post) it has all the info youll need and yes they are very good for the money, and some people say they are better than most big name brands!! if you havent baught the hand-controller yet, you will need to, as it doesnt work without it.
