Though these things do not resemble custom plates, the name of this thread.

what are you thoughts on custom plates?

the likes of RB26, Dohmar, RBDIRTY, RBDRIFTY etc

if you will.

Killjoy.

Well some plates are shit and some are not shit.

I like my own plates because it reflects a nick/alias I've used since back 1994/1995 when I ran a dual line underground BBS

You can instantly spot a chronic wankers plates, because it big notes them or their ride

'bigv8' 'hotmale' 'ladykila' 'pimphos' etc would make me think ur a tw@

i got my custom plate after i saw heslo after a random spotting and thought, "it be easy for people to spot me, plus its a little diff from the norm'... looks real good for photoshoots too (negated if ur bumper is covered in holes and chips but there it is)

I know its a form of masturbation, but who said wanking was a bad thing? (religious types not counted)

Why does talking like this feel like arrogance?

- W

maybe because some f**kwitts think that me signing my messages is a form of arrogance? I dont know, I cant work that part out, do you care to explain it?

-D

Not the signing, just the way you seem to 'talk down' to people?

I was simply interested in what your plates actually meant, and i cop the old 'get f**ked'.

Never mind, won't show an interest or be friendly next time?

Aaaaanyway back on topic lads, I think plates like FAT.200 or like RDRIPER etc aren't good but nicknames like Heslo that give your car your own personal little touch can set off a car. I like Hostiles plates, I like RBWARE, SLED I like all of them because they make your car 'your own' and give it a personality that reflects your own

... when is it too late to cancel an order for custom plates...?

a) Do you have any idea how often I hear that question?

b) I dont know how you can fathom that I'm "talking down" to people. I am efficient, and succinct.

c) If I was a snob, I wouldn't have replied to your PM's. So perhaps take a deep breath before posting and reconsider for a minute.

d) If I wanted to tell you to get f**ked, I would quite happily, simply, say in capital letters "Get f**ked". This is not the case.

e) I saw your myspace with you chucking up the gangsta signs. I do hope you're taking the piss, because white australians pretending to be LA crips is about the top of my shit list. And yes, I do love hiphop and listen to it often, but that dont mean I'm snoop Dohmar

f) You can be as friendly as you want. You asked me what it meant. I wasnt obliging, because I'm sick of answering that question, especially because it has no relevance to anyone except myself, so why would I bother? If any flamin mongrel had a brain and actually spent 5 minutes googling, they might find it out. And in any case, I had the nickname before I discovered of any negative connotations, so quite frankly I am well and truly f**king done with answering questions.. you come to me in pm or in person asking something relevant, I'll help u as best I can, but ffs dont get shitty when I decide to NOT answer what is the equivalent to a baseline paparazzi question...

so

a: talking down? i dont do that, unless someone is a moron. i dont think you are, which is why im replying to your abberant post.

b: the plates are my nickname. simple.

c: be friendly, but dont be a wigga. im not your bitch, and i wont answer all of your questions simply because you asked it.

-D

Yeah I was taking the p!ss in them photos, I am by far a wigga wanna be lol and to my defence them photos are old and I don't even use my myspace................. We all have pictures like that when we've got a few drinks under our belt, but thanks for trying to embaresse me

I just think its as easy quickly explaining what it meant as you took the time to answer 'No.' and forgive me for taking the 'way' you posted it as arrogance and I did appreciate the fact you took the time to reply to the PM's and actually offering to show me a few tips with my SLR camera if/when I see you at a meet or club doo etc,

Cool - then as far as im concerned, ur my nigga and we down ®

dunno eh

I've been rocking the Dohmar plates for 18 months and only been pulled over twice for bretho and rego checks...

Never been queried regarding defects, never been drug tested, never been given the 3rd degree - all the police I've dealt with have been really professional and amiable too, I can't rate their conduct higher to be honest. I really cannot complain, and I cant see how my plates are any worse - if anything, its easier for a cop to type into their vehicle computer and pull up my driving history and see that I've been a good lad...

on the other hand, if ur king dori superstar, u might have uh... issues

-D

Fair call, I guess not all custom plates pull the wang out.

Have never really had trouble with the cops myself, but one of the guys that use to be on here a fair bit (can't remember his name now, been a bloody long time) seemed to attract the cops quite a bit & he wasn't the type to misbehave.

Maybe there's just too many Skylines on the road these days I dunno :D.

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
