Agreed. Brand means nothing as they all make more than one model of tyre. You need to compare models within the same category.... AFAIK its reasonable to compare: Federal 595RS, Kumho KU36, Falken RT-615, Toyo R1R as they are all street/track crossover types.

I more meant treadwear rating number, can be used within the same brand, but not between manufactures. IMO

I really get what u guys are trying to say, but the only issue is that i dont have 700$ to spend on new tyres.. I have only enough for 2 KU36 for the front and maybe like enough to buy some decent 70%+ Tread tires for the rear.. Its either this or nothing.. and im really interested in doing this track day.. Because after this i dont know when i would get time again.. as im going back to my country for a long holiday!!

BTW im going for Driver training at winton and not looking to create some lap times.. Just wanna know controlling and stuff... So if you were me, What would u do??

do the fronts then... better than doing none.

No, you want the car to brake and turn. Best tyres on the front!

my first couple of track days earlier in the year were on nankang's...basically a really hard tyre that went off pretty quick.

it was still fun, and by no means scary. just because its the track doesnt mean you have to run super tyres. the crazy r32 micolour car

runs street tyres at the track and keeps up / beats cars running r comp tyres.

i'd just run on the tyres you have, if you have fun. go out and get some better rubber and go from there.

just remember to put heaps of air in the street tyres. i had like 40psi cold on the nankangs to stop the side wall going over.

if you have the cash then go the 595RS or ku36, well worth it. (running 595RS 235/45 all round now, love em)

marty (emts) in an s14 was running hankook fronts and nankang rears.

iirc the hankook were pretty soft road tyre (obvious not the same compound as ku/595), they wore like crazy at sandown. still had fun, i think...ha

he then run ku36 on the front last winton, was pretty happy. now has ku36 on the rear.

      I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

      My Nismo 1.5 churps a bit on reverse turns when cold, but besides that feels like a stock diff.

      So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
