I'm using the Nulon premixed green stuff .. 33% glycol the rest demineralized water,

My understanding of earthing kit perhaps making it worse is because the earth wire could actually be used by the stray currents to actually enter the coolant rather than leave it .. depends on where the bad earth is I guess. No point in guessing though, checking with an accuirate analogue multimeter should be easy enough.. I'll let you know my findings tommorow.

wtf seriouse??? i never knew this.. all i do is flush out the radiator, leave the A/C on hot temp and idle the car till the thermostat opens and just flush it with my hose then i put in coolant... like coolant thats already premade....

im fitting my ISC rad this afternoon, still undecided wether i should earth it or not... is the factory radiator in r33 gtst alloy cores? if i had problems surely it would have eating that

where did you attach the earth wire on the radiator side ? My new alloy rad doesn't touch the chassis anywhere so I'm not quite sure where a stray current would enter from.. unless it comes through the coolant from the engine side. So I suppose if it's going to enter from the engine coolant the best place to earth the radiator would be somewhere near the top hose ??

According to NS anything about 50mV, so seems you are ok. So is it just saying that if you have dodgy earths in the car that electrolysis can happen in the cooling system? So just make sure all your main earths near the radiator are fine. Doesnt actually mention earthing the radiator does anything, says other earths near it cause it. So not sure why some of you have earthed your radiators.

from your temp sensor thats where the current will be coming from , just attach a wire like others said

i will get some pics later on tonight

well radiator is in and fitted ...

put a multi meter in the coolant when hot, got a reading of around 0.02v is this bad? lol

That's probably not VERY bad but it's still no good to have anything above 0v.. tried earthing the radiator ?

Got myself a cool multimeter today but didn't get a chance to measure it as it got dark, will do tommorow. Just a question in regards to earthing wire .. thicker is better right? ie. less resistance the more strands etc If I get anything above 0v I'll get the thickest gauge copper cable and run it to the battery negative post..

Hmmm fair enough, its just after reading that atricle it seems that isn't exactly the problem, not having the radiator earthed. I havnt had mine earthed and it's fine. Its the electrics around it, headlights etc which cause the problems of stray currents. So shouldn't the solution be make sure they are all well earthed? I dunno, this is just my understanding from that article.

Well, being that I have had my engine in and out several times, I know all my earth straps are good. But considering that the people I bought the radiator from advised to earth it, I thought it was prudent to do so.

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
