Hey guyz, im finally getting the oil changed in my car and have a decided to use Motul Turbolight 4100... Well i use it for everyday use but my car will be seeing the track in few days and that is the main reason im changing the oil now... But i need it for all round performance which would be track as well as Day to day!!

So what vicosity oil would u guyz recommend?? I was a little confused with the 0w40 and 10w40 when the mechanic asked me today!! Or should i be using some other vicosity!!

And what sort of oil filter should i pick up and from where...

BTW i have a R34 GTT pulling 180KW at the Rear...

And what brake fluid should i buy , will just top that up as its a little low...

on my first track day i found the yum cha fluid to goto shit after a three'ish laps.

i would bleed it off. i was recommended motul rbf600. seems to work well. ive done 3 changes with it. get it from autobarn etc

there is a missive thread on oil in gen maintenance.

ive been using 4100 10w40 and changing very frequently (2-3 track days), its goes dark pretty quick. but most would recommend chrono v300. its exy, tho

not more than doing a rebuild on your engine but...

was going to give 8100 a try, but its lighter? once the 4100 is hot the pressure is quite low.

depends on the milage and health of the engine, a tired engine with blowby issues, -50 or -60 which is the hot rating. A healthy engine -40 is the way to go, the 0w40 will protect better when cold than the 10w40, but Turbolight only comes in 10w40 (still nothing wrong with it 10w still protects very good when cold).

the 0 and 10 refers to the weight when cold. 0 is thinner when cold (or is it the other way round???) but either way, the lower the number the better it is for cold weather and coming into summer the cold range of the oil is going to be less important than a few months ago so 10w will be fine

    • Absolutely could be. I collected data logs from when the O2 sensor was still out and also after I had replaced it so will try to compare them. Pretty confident that the affect is lowered with the new sensor, will check logs at the same RPMs/conditions.

    • thanks for the advice on the box... i was thinking the 6 speed was better for cruising on the highway but on closer inspection and comparison the Rb 5 speed box was not too different...  So the choice is going to be the RB25 box... if I can save up and find one at the right price
    • Thanks Matt, yes that's what i am aiming for. Just going to apply the right voltage and grounds to the dash connector. Hence my search for these pins... any chance you know if these pins are in the same spot as the ones on the S15 Dash connector? as mentioned above on page 8?
    • Yes, unfortunately that's the one. Signal was noisy to begin with; after driving once and looking back at the logs I saw pressure constantly swinging between 0-200psi, or staying at 0 randomly for a few seconds. There's a lot of good sensors that share the same look and feel, so don't presume they're all bad. I bought mine for 20$ off Amazon and I should have read the reviews prior, as it's clear they're junk.  I purchased a lowdollerr motorsports sensor.
