be warned though fob does NOT stand for fresh off boat in international business studies. nearly yelled it out infront of the whole class of non australians trying to score a fredo frog for answering first. stands for 'FREE ON BOARD' something else that pretty much means the same thing about the frieght coming off the boat. strange accounting world, i knew things were wrong when they told me bs stood for balance sheet. bs it does mate.

Morning biatches. Seems like a nice day to race the GTR around a track. What will you be doing today? ;)

will be dropping by a certain workshop and asking them nicely wtf is happening with my car and letting them know it needs to be ready before christmas!! =D

youve got a gtr right?

Id be using N1 water and oil pumps

all for around $500-600 all up delivered from ebay

gates have a rb pulley set with timing belt for around $300 delivered

add in oil and coolant and there goes 1grand :P

man Im now heaps angry that troy (ex-boostworx) took me for a lend

fark, I could have sold the sitc and safc for $450 total, said to troy take em for 300

he took em and wont pay.

and now I have no idea where/how to find him

it isnt a huge deal, but for a family of 4 on the pension, it actually is a lot of money !

as we speak my N1 water pump and gates timing belt kit are being fitted to my GTR.

$390 for the N1 pump delivered to my door from JustJap. Gates kit with seals and idlers was $329 delivered.

I dont know what to expect price wise from a 100,000km service, because im spending nearly 4 grand getting other work done at the same time haha!

    • They are under bucket shims. Tomei provides a test shim kit and then any measurement of shim required.
    • I always wondered how you were supposed to buy a set of 24 buckets and somehow magically have every single one of them yield exactly the desired clearance. I would have thought you'd need to assemble a cam with either 12 "sample" or "example" buckets of known top thickness (or a single such sample/example 12 times over!!) measure clearances at every valve, and then do the usual math to work out what the actual "shimness" of each bucket needed to be, before buying the required buckets to make up he thicknesses that you didn't have on hand.
    • I now seem to be limited in power due to my rev limit/hydraulic lifters in my built RB25. I'm looking into converting over to Tomei solid lifters. Question for anyone that has done the conversion. I was always under the impression that when using the Tomei solid lifter conversion, you would also require new valves (Longer or shorter stems, I can't remember which).  I don't know where I got this idea, as so far I see no mention of this in any of the Tomei documentation. It just states I need the Tomei solid buckets, solid lifter cams and upgraded springs. As my head is already built, all I would need is another set of 1000$ Kelford cams, 500$ buckets and about 4H hours of my time installing and I'm off to the races!?!? There's no way it's that simple, I must be missing something?
