Nah got the pump priming. Doesn't even come close to firing up though, just turns over for a bit while draining the shit out of the battery, even when being jumped and the other car is revving a fair bit, it still almost dies completely.

My mate said he could hear the fuel being pumped into the rail, so it might be a spark issue, but I really don't give a fuck anymore. It's time for someone who knows what they're doing re wiring to have a suss (that or it's time to push the cunt over a cliff and gleefully watch the destruction that ensues)

Brand new plates too Mitch :D

o noez haha

Yo Donkey Kong, you should buy my KTS Tie Rod ends - increase steering lock = fully sick hectik driftz :)

sorry peach , if im gonna buy anything for lock it will be drift knuckles

Can you check for spark? Remove one of the coil packs and stick in a spark plug ... crank it over and check for spark? Or timing light if you have one.

:)

I just can't stand to look at the thing at the moment. My mates dad has a multi-meter but none of us who are working on it have a clue about wiring so I guess we've done pretty well to get this far with all the bullshit little differences/problems we've encountered :D

One thing though, Nissan can suck a huge wang. Why the hell would you make every single goddam sensor have a different plug between 2 engines of the same vintage fitted to similar chassis?

UUUGGGHHHH marry me Andrew??

im right there with ya mate, couldnt even get the RB on the engine mounts today,

and Dale needed the crane back ASAP, si i dropped it onto one mount just so its in there

ill take it to a shop and let some other douche deal with it.

between work, My Boy and other duties, i no longer have the time of patience anymore.

FCKING CARS!!!!

gonna do the worlds biggest skid when its done i swear!

LOL we've both come to the same conclusion - some other sucka can deal with it :D

Tandem skids when both our shitboxes are done fo sho.

It wouldn't be so bad if the end result was some bullshit tough motor, but all this shit for a 20? :D

Nah in all honesty mine wouldn'tve been half the headfuck it has if me and my mate didn't make an important decision re how to swap looms while absolutely plastered last weekend :) that was where the real troubles began.

try doin it for 8 months for a stock motor haha

Well I think my GTR has proven a new meaning to the term "GTR handle like they're on rails"

Aye thats well low.... what suspension u running? :P

I just got back from a 2 hour drive thru the adelaide hills, from hahndorf to lobethal and gumeracha as well as a few detours here and there, loads of great twisties, some nice sweeping bends and the odd straight road make for a great time. even got to drive on a single lane dirt road with a huge dropoff on one side... gtr lapped it up and asked for seconds

*sigh* so have to do that next weekend

-D

Wonderful! Pulled my RS250 race bike engine down and found some foreign metal in there. :P Appears some douche at the track didn't like a little 250 spanking him and his 1000 and put foreign bits (a piston pin not even for my RS) into my crank case when I left it unattended ... resulting in the clutch basket gear, gearbox engagement gear, and seals being wrecked. Now its rebuild time ... and I haven't started the season! :D

Might have found a race spec motor in Singapore ... waiting for confirmation.

    • They are under bucket shims. Tomei provides a test shim kit and then any measurement of shim required.
    • I always wondered how you were supposed to buy a set of 24 buckets and somehow magically have every single one of them yield exactly the desired clearance. I would have thought you'd need to assemble a cam with either 12 "sample" or "example" buckets of known top thickness (or a single such sample/example 12 times over!!) measure clearances at every valve, and then do the usual math to work out what the actual "shimness" of each bucket needed to be, before buying the required buckets to make up he thicknesses that you didn't have on hand.
    • I now seem to be limited in power due to my rev limit/hydraulic lifters in my built RB25. I'm looking into converting over to Tomei solid lifters. Question for anyone that has done the conversion. I was always under the impression that when using the Tomei solid lifter conversion, you would also require new valves (Longer or shorter stems, I can't remember which).  I don't know where I got this idea, as so far I see no mention of this in any of the Tomei documentation. It just states I need the Tomei solid buckets, solid lifter cams and upgraded springs. As my head is already built, all I would need is another set of 1000$ Kelford cams, 500$ buckets and about 4H hours of my time installing and I'm off to the races!?!? There's no way it's that simple, I must be missing something?
