Next thing is to get my fuel rail/fpr sent from japan along with some splitfires.

After that is buy everything i need from nissan and go hunting for oil and water lines for the 26 and thats it :(

lol, shit, $300? mine cost like $200.

also, i hate people. was pretty sold on xt7's, then one of the guys on the 31 club filled my brain with POISON!

... in the form of cst hyper zero's.

unfortunately the only 2 colour options i can find are bronze and chrome (which has a fair premium thrown on top), but powder coating is hella cheap.

im looking at 17 x 9.5 +15, but they do come in 18 x 9.5 +15/23, and 18 x 9 +30.

naw not intersted in 9.5, id want it to be street legal to the word

hate to tell you, but even a 9 +15 will technically be illegal. hell, even a 9 +30 is 20mm too wide per side.

offset has no bearing upon illegality, upon the basis of the rim and tyre being within the guards

that depends upon the guards, gtrs are going to be better off than std skylines

an 8"+30 offset vs a 9+30 offset is the exact same damn thing, rite? doesnt it mean that the extra 25mm is staggered upon the centre axis of the wheel? +12.5mm of the inner and outer sides?

id like to replace my stockers with a decent 18x9 rim and a >sensible< tyre combo (I say SENSIBLE to discourage scandy and other wheel fetish oriented lads from advising me to get some stupid arse f**ked up camber/stretch that simply doesnt apply to my needs - which be daily driving, targa rally and aggressive country driving)

would like the 34 gtr rims, as ive always wanted, but if one can get decent looking rims cheaper, id be all ears

thing is money dont grow on trees so I cant just point and click

oh, is that how it works? funny. adr's say track increase. offset effects track.

example, take standard 32 gtr wheels, and chuck a 15mm bolt on spacer behind each wheel, and then throw the wheels back on. youve changed the wheel track by 30mm on the axle, effectively increasing your track by 4mm above the legally permitted limit.

you want legal, keep the wheels, suspension, and tyres as standard.

you havent actually looked at my wheel and tyre combo have you? while im running a stretched rear (215/45 on a 9), my fronts are straight sidewall (225/45 on an 8)

OK My bad, I though track meant tracticle tensile contact per surface area, rather than distance of traction from centre

f**k no. i'd never look at a silvia for a gtr benchmark

im after a legal 18" rim (18x9 qualifies iirc) and chuck some decent street rubber on em

255 wide would be acceptable im sure

i've seein inline6's 275's and they look dope, but im sure i dont need that wide.

EDIT - and stretched tyres are gay. i want 1:1 rolling diameter.

googles an awesome thing.

http://gti-vr6.net/library/engine/Schrick_...eldiameters.htm

assume standard is a 225/50 on 16 x 8 +38 wheel, then punch in the details of the wheel and tyre combination youre looking at, and voila, tells you everything.

i punched in a new wheel and tyre combo of 18 x 9 +40 with a 255/35 and the effect on the track is a little over 2 inches.

    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
    • Ah coolant overflow, previous discussions make way more sense now lol.
    • ok. Yea, then I would need to remove the turbo and weld an adapter on to it instead, if I fuc* this one up.
    • No. Only for a standard ECU with/without Nistune. Standalone has no need for it. That's like the 3rd time I've said so.   And as to that sensor linked - yes, it does look like it would be the right one. I've never bothered to see how available they were - just assumed that they'd be hard to find. I think I'd be planning to go Link ECU rather than buy sensors I don't actually want to make Nistune work, if I did not already have Nistune. As you do not already have Nistune, you should realy consider your options.
