Really? I've never heard a bad thing about Jim Berry or his clutches. Can you give me some examples? PM if necessary.

na cant be bothered trolling through many threads about clutches, from memory possibly people either not driving it correctly and chewing out flywheels or starting with too thin a fly, or wimps not liking a slightly heavier pedal from standard

Thanks to your R32 I cant bare to turn the key in mine anymore  hahaha

anyway, did nightshift last night, got bored:

also, spotted this on Wilkinson Road Gawler River on my way home:

caption 'now let that be a lesson to the rest of you'

Naww :ninja:

In other news, I know of one of the guys who died in the bomb blast in Enfield :)

I bought one from a chick in NSW for $450, second hand, only to have my mechanic tell me that it was 100% f**ked. The springs were loose and there were cracks on the pressure plate. I contacted the chick (who is NSW exec) and denied that it was broken and said that it was fine when she removed it from her car (even tho she admitted it was slipping at 350kw).

$450 down the drain from a 'trusted' sau member, I was pretty shitty. I'm considering sending it to Jim to rebuild but cant afford it at this moment.

Not sure if it was the full monty or mini monty, but it has been the single biggest waste of money ever spent via an SAU purchase.

my 1st sau purchase was for a S2 r34 turbo, ended up getting a shitty S1 r33 turbo.

$600 down the drain, seller refused to answer an pm's or phone calls.

grr

since then hasnt been an issue, plus I sell for cheaps so that keeps karma my way

anyone know the EXACT process of gettin sa reg for in interstate car?

go to transport sa and fill out a form and thats about it. they'll issue you with sa plates unless you specify customs

i believe u only need to go to regency if the car is defected interstate or unregistered. if its registered interstate its just a simple paperwork/numberplate swap.

I transferred a QLD Delica over which was registered and not defected, took it to Vehicle Inspections for them to take a look over it(numbers check etc.) and got a form which says its all good been checked over, took that around the corner to Transport SA and filled out the transfer form paid fees rego and got the SA plates....

correct Vu you will need a vehicle inspection but its not @ regency they check matching numbers and tint and no major leaks takes all of 10 mins checking time and back to regency to pay for plates and vis check

Naww :)

did he seem to you to be a candidate for the darwin awards?

from the looks of the blast it makes me think one of them mustve lit a ciggie before planting the bomb

yeah would have to add a clause if you get there and dont like it then you pay him for his time to come and get you and catch a plane back home

and go for a drive back to his house to finalise paper work and see where he lives :)

    • For race cars, this is one part where I find having the roll cage bar having gone through a hole in the floor better than the build it up on a ledge inside... The Merc I help on, the main hoop ends are marked on the car, and the jack is marked... Jack goes under a few inches and lifts one whole side of the car up... Removes that fight for long slim jacks for race car duties!   My biggest issue for the daily drivers I work on, is my jacks don't go high enough. The jacks start out on a few blocks, jack it up, then start a second jack under it on more blocks, and then I can get an axle stand under it. My axle stands are presently in use, and are nearly fully extended. The car is sitting with barely more than a cm of clearance to get the wheel off the studs! Sarah's Kluger is the same, as it has an ungodly amount of droop available in the suspension and a distinct lack of good jacking points!
    • Happy? Yep, my to do list is getting shorter and shorter. Either this light approaching is the end of the tunnel, or I'm about to be hit by a train... Ha ha ha   Also, Duncan isn't that far out of town that you need to make a multi day drive out of it. 😛
    • Sorry I meant that we are building the EH for a client.
    • LOL, when one "money pit" is never enough Noice, and excellent work mate
    • I have more than enough digging, laying blocks, moving gravel, airrating, feeding and top soiling the grass, and setting up the veggie gardens growing some seedlings,  and then removing all the unused rock to keep me busy for the next few months at least,  hopefully the rain stops soon so I can get a few hours in this arvo, but, before that Sunday is washing day, is every body happy, you bet your life we are Nice country road day drives are a day off whenever I'm muscle sore from all the landscaping at the moment, but, more epic multiple day drives will start once the majority of the big jobs outside are completed
