You fitted a thermo fan that never turns on?!?! FFS!

Having a thermo on constantly basically defeats the purpose of having a thermo fan (it's called a thermostatic fan because it is controlled by a thermostatic switch). What you gain by removing the load of an engine-driven fan is replaced by the additional load of driving the alternator to supply enough current to drive the thermo fan.

Just put the factory fan back on.

Ok maybe I'm saying it wrong "I have only replaced the engine and loom!" radiator and fan on front are standard non turbo stuff! The fan on the front "whatever it's called" doesn't turn on at all so what we be the problem do u think?

The fan out front is the thermo over-temp fan for the A/C. The switch is the one in the bottom tank of the radiator.

If the engine is overheating even with the factory engine-driven fan fitted, there is an extremely good chance that the impeller on the water pump is cactus, and no water is being circulated to help cool the engine. You will have to pull the pump to confirm.

i had the same problem, replaced thermostat and was good for about a month and then happened again. the real problem was the radiator was 70% blocked. try getting the radiator tested. Its easy to take out and while ur doing that change/check thermostat and flush engine . . . . radiator cost me $110 brand new from nat rad in epping.

yeah i took the thermostat out just to check it and its working better not its gone.

ill be getting a new 1 this friday and ill be changing my radiator to that justjap one.

yes the fan infront of the aircon/radiator "black one" is the one that isnt working.

i dont know why it doesnt... and i have now noticed another problem!

my heat gauge "since engine install" even when cold doesnt go below half way now :D ffs!

i know my engine still is "extremely" hot when its at max temp cause i felt it but

the stupid gauge wont go below half way... any ideas on why that is now?

is there any difference between a RB25 temp sensor and RB26...? Different resistance or something...?

As I have just fitted a 26 head to my 30 bottom end. (was running 25) and now temp seems to warm up really fast.

I dont have another guage to check the temp.

Yes there is a difference,

There's also a difference between R32, R33, and R34 as I said earlier.

You're all prepared to tell this guy to rip his water pump off, buy a new radiator... I did all that and learnt the hardway... GET THE CORRECT TEMPERATURE SENSORS FIRST.

If you have the old motor, refit them!

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
    • Yes sir am asking is there possible way from aem tuner from wiring pins
    • Have you checked cam to crank timing and confirmed balancer marks are correct?
