From my experience the pods that make the most "induction noise" are foam based ones...HKS are the loudest imao Trust airinx (yellow mushroom) are behind it... i have also used (have for sale too) the K&N pod filters your get a noise thats not crazy loud but u still get that induction noise..probably reckon would be one of the quiet ones.

I have only used and stuck with the K&N pod. It was the first one i bought and had no need to change it.

On the last "skid pan day" people were asking me "what type of bov. do you have, it sounds made!?" I only have the factory plumbed back system, but you can actually here it work through the pod .

I used to run a Trust Airinix (yellow) pod filter - it was very loud, but IMHO it was very crap at doing what it was supposed to be doing, namely filtering! Took it off to clean it, and holding it up to the light you could clearly see right through it.

Call me a pessimist, but if you can see through the filter then the chances are plenty of sh1t can get through and into your engine...:(

I've since ditched it, and replace the stock airbox. OK, it's a lot quieter, but there is no noticeable loss of power and I can rest assured my engine aint breathing in tons of dust and crap on a daily basis..

My 2 yens worth...

But, damn did that Trust pod sound good! :D

shuto is right, those blitz metal sus ones are stoooopidly loud. my mate had one on his r33, and it was so loud, you could hear it sucking hard even just cruising without any load at 100km/h in 5th on the freeway.

hks & trust foam filters would be the 2nd loudest.

just got the K&N pod installed, nice sound not too loud but seems ok.

Was wondering since all you guys have a pod, i want to feed in a cold air pipe down there but couldn't seem to find any holes to feed it. I have a stock Intercooler so that pipe running below the pod is in the way. If you have a cold air pipe, where abouts did you guys feed it?

I left the top bit of the stock box so at least can get some air.

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
