Well very excited to have had the GTR on the dyno last night for the first time since I bought it!

Big thanks to Lindo and Junior for the new turbos & countless hours of work, Jeff at Speed Lab for the tune, and Michael & Turbo Tune for letting us use their dyno til ridiculous hours!

It is now making 307kW at ALL FOURS on only 16 PSI!

Car feels great, smoother & much more responsive! It absolutely freight trains!

:)

It's had a lot done to it mechanically -

Built Engine

Big sump

Forged Pistons

Rods

HKS 272 Cams

720cc injectors

Power FC D Jetro

Exedy Twin Plate Clutch

Oil cooler

Turbosmart E-Boost boost controller

Trial full exhaust

New turbos are Garrett -7s :)

over 300kw @ all 4 wheels with -7's @ 16psi is def a great achievement Bec.....you gotta be happy with that.

Me thinks it would be a bit of a response monster with the -7's putting out that much.

Reminds me of Andrew Blue32's car (although he's making 400kw).......he's only running 8cm journal turbos.....makes the thing come alive very early.

Sounds like yours would be very streetable

Yes it feels much more responsive now! I haven't had a proper drive yet but hopefully will tonight!

Very happy with it... Sooooo don't want to sell it now! :) Boo!

I told Jeff to keep it real safe when he tuned it, so no doubt we could have pumped more boost into it thus achieved more power, but (yeah yeah call me a girl), I didn't really see it as necessary on the street, especially these days... It'd just be asking for trouble! Hehehe. I love how the car squats when it takes off with decent pace! *sigh*

Time for a upgrade of the suspension me thinks....after i upgraded mine there is no squatting and more hauling ahead

na Damo i has 2 engines 1 in the car still runs and 1 out the car wanting to sort something out before piling money into it will be the good part of another year i need a pizza round to earn more money :) im tempted i might start eating more pizza but

mate of mine has a gtst running my old 3076 making some good numbers on E85, rear shocks are totally shagged and gets amazing traction, softer is always faster in a straight line!!

I got coilover running medium to soft....but still no squatting

its all to do with spring rates Krishy, you can set a hard set of coilovers to their "softest" setting, but it will still be 10x stiffer than standard spring/shock combo.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
