arabian_drifter
hey peoples , i just bought a 33gtst gearbox to fit in my r31 skyline . i found now while im under the car that the gearbox mounts and the tailshafts dont line up . i have the r33 yolk and i have the standard tailshaft from my r31 gearbox , so i thought i can mix and match , but none of this combo seems 2 work . can any1 tell me what exactly is needed for this ? do i need 2 get a differnt rear end of the tailshaft? any help would be good thanx Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/296117-r33-gtst-gearbox-in-a-r31-need-help-urgent/ Share on other sites
Birds
Alot of cutting and shutting I'm afraid, difficult conversion unless you're handy with the fabrication tools... Silo_Wagon
You need to get a custom tailshaft made. you need the 33 gearbox yoke aswell. Use a Auto cross member and redrill 2 holes Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/296117-r33-gtst-gearbox-in-a-r31-need-help-urgent/#findComment-4936791 Share on other sites

Birds
It's usually the way with a gearbox conversion, I apologise. If it hadn't have worked would you have come back and said thanks? Just be careful any difference in length or angle doesn't put added pressure on the output shaft seal.
