please, you mean baby seat! not seats......

Mate, would love to come to Tassie, or anywhere for that matter, but baby comes first (for this year anyway!!)

Just think of all the brownie points I'm earning by missing so many events, surely I can go troppo next year!!

Unfortunatly you will find that it will become expected as she is used to it.

It never ends...

Hahaahhahaha

prices:

pro 1200

open 880

club 440

some passes are included, but come on-too steep!

I would imagine hiring Eastern Creek for two days, all of the extra costs and no doubt these overseas cars would not have paid themselves to come over would explain the costs for entry. I doubt if they would re-coup there investment by entry fees alone and it would only go some way to paying the bill.

It made the decesion for me easier as i can't get that much past the wife along with a new set of tyres, brake pads and the ascioated fluid changes etc all means i will be watching from the side lines.

That and i am a soft co**

Matt

Does anyone know the format (or have an idea) for the two days ?? and why there is such a price disparity between the classes ??

Does it mean that Pro gets more track time than Open, and Open more than Clubsprint ?? or do they just figure that to guys at the top can afford more ??

It'd be good to know just what we can expect for our entry fee.........

It sure is exy, especially now I'm forced to Open class due to having a full cage and no carpet, regardless of having very few performance mods. But hey, them's the rules.

Anyways, I'll put some thought into whether I'll still take my car or just crew.

I'd say he would be, he's always the driver for that car as he's a major player in that particular project.

Troy: Too jealous of your euro exploits mate, everytime I watch your R400 vids I want one that much more...

Whats up with that Marlin. I just added a cage to my car. Does that mean I have to run open?

For what it's worth, I know SL is costing a fortune to put on. Heck, the big screen required is something like 20k rental!! (needed as there is no time board for spectators to know times etc)

Having a time board will be a major improvement over last year.

I was gunna be a flaggy with $880 cost for open. Now that it's cheaper I'll prob drive. I wanna see a timetable first. 2 day event should make it better value.

To be fair at just over $600 for two days worth of Eastern Creek madness, it's not too expensive. The amount of highly modified cars and international field ads more flavour as well!

A normal supersprint costs roughly $200 and you should get more track time at Superlap. Is also 2 days of punishment on tyres, brakes, car etc.

The problem for me is I am entered in the NSW superpsrint championship and I have 2 rounds in May already (2/5/10 at WP and 16/5/10 at EC) and I know by then my tyres will be fubar'd, brakes will need redoing etc..

So is a bit difficult for my measily budget to extend to all three events in one month. I'd love to do it, but I'd have to sacrifice one for the other so to speak. - read: SPONSORSHIP ANYONE?

As an ARDC member, I think I'll go and enjoy a free day spectating instead!

Exaclty you get what you pay for. Keep in mind this is Eastern Creek which for a business to hire is around $12k a day and this is only part of the cost for the whole show. What is expensive is running the whole show, I know it cost a LOT more than most think. Ian at Hi Octane has put his nuts on the line and if we don't get behind it, then it won't happen again. Then we go back to same old thing, open track days, close the gate when finished, no features.

    • I'll probably be putting the shit box back on the dyno again soon, I want to dial in the closed loop boost control properly. I'll have a camera facing the car/motor for fun too. Just note, there are essentially 3x 10AN inlets going into the catch can and 1x going back to the intake pipe. Most of the time the catch can "return" to the sump actually is the crank case breather, pushing air out.
    • I have the R3C with a Nismo slave and by no means does it behave like a stocker, it ain’t THAT bad. On take off just give a bit more throttle than you would say a coppermix and it’s fine. It will not slip though.
    • Okay. Final round of testing done. Got a friend to hook up a fancy scanner to the car and we also ran some compression and leakdown tests, she is healthy.  The MAF was definitely the culprit. So for future reference anyone with similar issues that find this thread. I suggest the following steps, in order of affordability:   Check your spark plugs for any fouling, replace plugs if they are bad or re adjust the gaps making it narrower (0.8mm would be good). Check every coil's resistance with a multimeter. It can be done by probing the IB and G pins on the coil pack. Resistance should be around 1.4 (+/- 0.1) Ohms Check the MAF. If you have Nissan connect or a good scanner with the 14 adapter it should allow you to see the voltage on the MAF reading should be around 1.1 - 1.2V when car is idling. But if you don't, buy a new MAF from Amazon and test, then return it. (For instance, I got a Chinese one for $40 that was reporting 1.3v on idle). If you still have scanner, you can run tests on the injectors to see if they are working, just remember to unplug the fuel pump fuse/relay and have no pressure on the line. Then listen for the noises that the injectors make. Clean/replace injectors as needed. Once you find the issue and fix, order thousands of dollars worth of OEM parts to refresh unrelated things (Optional)   PS: Thanks to the absolute legends of this forum for the responses and help to someone that went a bit over their head.
