What Are These From?

looks like somebody was up to no good with your car.

it looks like chips from the ECU? perhaps your car has been re-chipped (like powerchip).

apart from what looks like a 'bonus' it actually could be a sign of caution as you don't know what air/fuel mixture was tuned in the re-chipped computer, and knowing that is in the car, you would guess that there is a chance that your (ab)used car's engine had been properly (ab)used by the previous owner on some hills or racetracks in Japan...

Thanks rs73. The engine runs fine, have got it serviced at a couple of places that deal with the cars in Perth and they've both said it's all in good order. One of my guesses would be something like power chip but there are electronics for other stuff as well. Would be interesting to know though, because I would consider getting the ECU reflashed but obviously if it has already done there isn't much point. Could also be that the chips that correspond to these in the car are the non-stock ones or the stock ones could have been put back in. I got a powerchip for my last car and it was all good, I always use 98RON anyway.

well I had powerchip too in my old Mitsubishi Galant hatchback (SOHC) - which I think was a total waste of my money as I didn't get any noticeable performance increase out of it.

what did you expect from a SOHC Galant... enough power to pull the skin off a rice pudding?

same state of mind of any car-illiterate bogans prior to Skyline ownership 10 years ago.

I wondered where I left those

555 timer and a inverter IC- has to do with the IR repeater thats in there. had a glitch with it and put a new set in there.

Yeah I wondered if it had something to do with you did Chris, thanks, mystery solved :D

rs73: Last car that I had that the powerchip went in, it was a noticeable improvement, got it from a friend and from memory he was good enough to let me try it and make him an offer, so I decided it was worthwhile but wouldn't have been if I had to pay full price for it new (maybe $250 vs $550?)

    • Hey Kaz, Unfortunately I am not at home currently and wont be for a few more months so I do not have access to my files or CAD. And at this point I prefer to keep the files to myself as I want to potentially make a few more pairs and see if they will sell within the EU before openly marketing them. But the way it's shaped and how small it is, I don't think you can fit both an indicator and a fog light onto the same surround, unless they were very small LED-type clusters.
    • I’ve just installed a Uniclutch sport into my R32. I’ve been blown away by it… it drives like a stock Toyota Corolla. It doesn’t make sense to me that a performance clutch can drive this well. I was about to pull the trigger on a Nismo Coppermix twin plate when I discovered the Uniclutch and decided to give that a shot instead. They’ve changed the game and I couldn’t be happier.    I was previously using an Extreme cushioned button clutch with lightened flywheel. I’m still using the same lightened flywheel with the Uniclutch.
