Hi guys (and gals),

I'm doing the manual conversion to my Stagea and therefore have a series 2 Stagea tiptronic box for sale ... for the same price as installing a shift kit at MV Automatics!!! $475

The box is 62,000kms old

First service on box at 28,000kms when I imported it

Has stage 2 shift kit as fitted by MV Automatics at around 45,000kms

New solenoids fitted by MV Automatics at around 60,000kms

Also serviced at the time too when solenoids were fitted.

$475 ... no offers! You're getting alot of extras with this box as is.

PM me with interests

got a quick question, is the gearbox exact same as the one in a r34?

I'm told it is by MV Auto. But the gearbox is for AWD, so it has the transfer case naturally.

ant idea whats involved to run in a series 1?my trans is dying

Not sure. Can anyone else answer this. I would think the loom would be different for a start being tiptronic?

Hey bud, will you be avail this friday night for your refund? Got your sms but been busy, yet again.

Ruby

Bargain, solenoids are more than that alone. Nearly $1,000 worth of improvements there. Almost tempted to get this as a spare!

Then do it :D

If I can sell this box within the week ... I can pay someone else to install the manual and make it their problem ;)

Or throw the cash at some extras :bunny:

Did you have any idea of how much it would cost to get the box to Perth?

I would be interested if I can get it over.

I have absolutely no idea. You will have to enquire. Weighs about 90kg.

Tiptronic gearbox is now out of the Stagea ... doing my manual conversion now.

Get yourself a bargain ... if not sold by the end of the year, it'll just get lost in my garage.

You'd think that would be the responsibility of the buyer, but I would suggest you would be looking at some extra wiring, a series 2 ecu and associated grief to run it properly amongst other things...

I'll take it if you fit it.

hahaha.

If you can check out how much will it cost to put it in series 1 and what parts involved? I will be much more interested

Correct. I'm selling a worked tiptronic box. I have no idea what is involved with fitting it to a series 1.

Would delivary to queensland/brisbane be an issue?...or just at a amazing costt

It would only be an issue for you as it will be your responsibility. I'm happy to help out where I can (ie be available for the pickup).

Box still for sale.

PM me with interests please ... I don't frequent the Stagea FS section much sorry.

:P

    • Kinkstah, no, coilovers aren't illegal, especially as a bolt straight in. The illegal part will be if they're altering suspension geometry beyond factory limits, or the ride height is not legal.   Sounds like the blue slipper just didn't want to deal with any later possibility of mods appearing on the car.
    • The problem has always been that coilovers are able to be adjusted, almost at any time, to be too low. Most people who ever get/got defected for/with coilovers were actually afoul of the minimum ride height rule. So the interpretation by cops/inspectors was always that it is pointless to allow numpty to raise his coilovers and get the car inspected/cleared, then just drop them back down again as soon as they get around the corner from the inspection station.  This led to the interpretation that they were illegal unless rendered such that they can't be adjusted (ie, collars welded to the body, that sort of thing). That may or may not have ever actually been the official line, but I'm pretty sure it's not considered to be a solution these days. Coilovers themselves fall under clause 3.2 b of that manual, because they are an "installation of a variable ride height system" and they don't fit the exclusions in that clause (which point to air springs and other pneumatic adjusters). So, as per previous statements, they require engineering cert to be legal on the road. Once you have such cert, provided you do not adjust them outside the height range covered by the cert, you are OK. Without, you have an unroadworthy vehicle.
    • Here E10 is the cheapest fuel. And general advice is to not use it unless you hate your car. From what I remember it clogs up stuff in the fuel system or injectors?  With US/Canada being E10 across the board, does that mean that all fuel there is terrible?
    • Sorry, are coilovers ACTUALLY ILLEGAL in NSW? They aren't in Vic, as long as they retain 70% of stock travel and the car is above 100mm off the ground. Does NSW actually have a law making coilovers actually illegal? RWC/Blue Slip/Engineering people not knowing the actual f**king laws boils my blood. Demand them to point to the documentation that states a coilover is illegal. (it may exist in NSW ) Edit: I checked. They aren't. https://www.nsw.gov.au/sites/default/files/2021-02/RMS-infosheet-light-vehicle-modifications-manual-suspension-and-ride-height.pdf
