im having problems starting my rb25neo.

i want to use aerostart to see if the engine fires, because i dont think it is getting fuel.

i was going to spray it into the intake manifold at the same time as i crank the engine.

just wanted to be sure wether this is the right way to do it?

thanks

I'm not sure, but I'd be spraying in front of the throttle body, not at the air filter, because the aerostart would have to travel through your intercooler and if you get a backfire you'd blow it all to kingdom come.

Try putting a small hole in your rubber before the TB and using a nozzle taped in place [so it doesn't blow out with any turbo pressure] maybe.

    • As MBS suggested if this is happening when the engine is cold you're going to want to remove the intake air regulator and verify resistance + that the shutter is physically opening and closing. At -20C should be fully open, 20C half open, over 60C fully closed. At 20C should be 70-80 ohms. For AAC valve testing using a Consult cable see if you can raise and lower the idle by commanding more or less AAC duty cycle. Hopefully it's pretty linear as well, shouldn't be like 30% AAC valve is barely idling and 40% is 1500 rpm.

    • Not sure yet.  Was considering speedtek because it was rated to 800hp, but when I did some research about him I don't think I will go for that🤣 So maybe giken gear set, but I'm afraid it won't be strong enough🙄
    • Keeping in mind that for most people this is a week to month long job!
    • Its also worth mentioning that 30 years after it left the factory and god knows how many missed oil changes since, there is every possibility that one or more lifters are ticking because they are sticky/gummed up. To resolve that you need to pull the cams then pull each lifter, disassemble, clean, reassemble, soak in oil and re-install, and they should come up good as new.
