Hahahaha in my head, i was thinking yeah i'll keep the tank full, but the car drinks too much petrol. I always try and keep it full though only a short thrashing and petrol just sinks down to 3/4, so i am assuming it would be the same on track hahahaha!

I was thinking you meant engine failure, yeah i am not sure what will happen if it dies but have only had fuel problems once!

I see i see, i didn't know that. After i did the surge tank and got a EPA notice, i just took the surge tank out of my car. Couldnt stand the smell anymore, though if i knew how to run the tank without the smell i'd consider doing it again.

Either way, worse comes to worse i'll run one from underneath the car or something. See how i go with the 044 in tank and take my chances!

have u got a pic of your previous setup with surge tank?

i ran 320awkw with an intake 044, took it to the drag strip a no. of times & it seemed ok (ran pb 11.1) but then the piston ring land collapsed on no.2 (usually its 5 or 6 like my other engine lol)

anyway, was fuel surge the cause or age/wear & tear of factory piston...this remains a mystery to me

Sard%20Surge%20Tank.jpg

Here you go, i am not at home so i can't find the one that was installed in my car.

It was just sitting on the left corner of my car anyways..

320awkw and a PB of 11.1 is not bad! I have yet to run and i have 332awkw. You're scarying me with the fuel surge now!!! My new motor is nearly finished and i don't want to blow it again right away! Hahaha..

Do you think i can run 400awkw with HKS 2530s?

Hmmm best supporting mods... I dont know what Paul was running, maybe he'll tell us later

This is what i'm running...

HKS 2530s w/ HKS actuators

Tomei Valve Guide

Tomei Valve Springs TypeB

Tomei Procams 272/272 (in&ex 10.25lift)

Tomei Oil Pump w/ Tomei Baffles

Tomei Valve Lifters

Tomei 1mm Oversized Valves

CP Pistons 87mm

Eagle Rods

Sard 800cc, FPR and fuel rail

Bosch 044

Trust Power Evolution II exhaust (3.75")

ATS Twin Carbon Plate clutch..

Trust 115mm FMIC

Standard airbox w/ z32s

PowerFC

Maybe other missing mods... that i cant think of

&

Fingers crossed.. haha

paul likes talking specs, i reckon he pitches a tent half the time

head porting and high lift cams (which u have) made a big difference to my setup, i gained 43awkw on the same dyno although 1 was an rb26 @ 362awkw and now an rb30 @ 405awkw, same turbo setup

Hahaha guess we'll wait and see if he does pitch a tent and tell us what specs he was running when he had the 2530s setup.

It would be interesting...

I have run 350awkw before on Powertunes dyno on shootout mode at 20psi when i had Kakimoto 3.5" Full Mega N1+ Premium + Apexi Pods. Though i'm running a kakimoto regu 92z or something now, lost like 20kw :)

What turbos are you running with the 362awkw? Did you change your coilpacks? I was thinking RB30 at the time also, though didn't want a hassle too much with the 38mm height difference, though who knows i might do it with the spare engine if i am not happy with the overall performance...

GT-RS huh? I remember Paul writing somewhere the difference between the two wasnt that much with RB26 bottom end isnt that much?? :) maybe i am wrong?

You think coilpacks are necessary? Hahah i'm running 9.15mm lift on my current motor.

Hahaha maybe it does, or maybe it ran on a happy dyno :D

i think ive heard the same as well, not that much in it between the 2530 v's gtrs

apparently the coilpacks in the r32 are the better factory coilpacks - my rb30 is running factory coilpacks without a problem but i always think that these things are pushing 20yrs!

I'm surprised however you have an RB30 and you're only pushing 405awkw?

Paul must be running a monster in twoogle for it to run 500awkw on rb26 bottom end? Or happy dyno?

Hahaha jokess...

Yeah i was thinking of keeping it with the factory coilpacks, unless theyre breaking down or something then i'll change them...

Mine are only 10years old? 10years less than your R32 coilpacks hahahaha! not bad :)

there is a misconception with running the larger rb30 that it will give you more kw, BUT it will give u more nm...thats for sure :)

another comparo for you:

my rb26 made 700nm torque whereas my rb30 made 930nm of torque, overall power is much harder hitting & tractable, very hard to explain until u actually jump in an rb30 (chalk & cheese in terms of driveability). the new vg38dett in the r35gtr also supported my decision making to increase capacity.

i could have taken the path of running a t51r snail but i wanted a strong street setup with aggressive midrange as well as wanting that standard look to keep the law happy :D

paul is running a t51r with the larger t62 housing - its a farken donkey of all donkeys turbo!

i'd keep your coilpacks unless there is a benefit of running splitfires which im unaware of.

On the topic of fuel pumps, whats the max an 044 can handle?

I've set up my 044 intank pickup on my BNR34, looking to push around 380-400awkw on 2530s.

DiRTgarage, from memory you're making around 402awkw on 98 with 2530?

Any suggestions? Wasn't a lot of details on the article from HPi the GT-R special... haha!

Plenty of people here in Vic making 380rwkw are using a Nismo intake pump in GTR's.

No surge tank, no fancy external pumps, just a good old drop in replacement that works 100% perfect.

These are circuit cars, so if they don't have issues you'll be right.

Without a doubt the best pump on the market!

I made 340rwkw on E85 with just the Nismo intank.

With needing approx 30% more E85 to make that power over 98, the Nismo pump certainly punches well above its weight.

Now the car has a fuel system to support well over 800hp, ill get there one day lol

Same here, my car used to make low 400rwkw with just a Nismo in tank pump too :)

I now use it as a feeder for the surge tank and 2x044.

bingo! i also have a similar setup but with an 044 intank & 2 044's running off my surge tank

destrukshn, are u running a dual entry fuel rail? if so, it is a nice setup to have an 044 feeding each end :)

    • ok so if i wanted to go 18's i would go for 8's  in front 30+ or 32+ off set at front and the back 9 would be ok? what offset should i aim for.. then can i do some  hunting for wheel rim choices..    If i get this - will this fit all around: Size: 18 x 8.5 +37 - n what tyres size tyre should i get for front n back?
    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
