JMANS R33
Hey guys i have an R33 GTS-T and it has a stock intercooler (side mount) I'm tossing up wether to get an R34 side mount which is obviously ment to be better or an after market front mount... I am trying to keep cost down where possible but i do want it to be better... and i don't want any extra cop trouble as i use this car as my daily! if anyone has any comments it would be very helpful thanks. Damo_R34
if your not planning to run much more boost than stock, r34 sidemount is thicker and will provide that bit more cooling. that being said, you might as well go fmic now, not that expensive and can easily be made legal. dark.sky
There are also ARC and Blitz upgrade side mount intercoolers, take a look on ebay there might be one... edit: This is for a R32, but you get the idea. http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b105788999 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/297303-intercoolers/#findComment-4950241 Share on other sites
JMANS R33
cheers!!! i have installed a turbo smart boost controller and i'm running it at about 12psi it seams to have no trouble holding that and i notice a huge difference!!! but i just want to make sure that it's not hurting my car when i flick the switch. and if i can turn it up a bit more i will... thats why i want a new intercooler... i don't know if there are any other mods on my car. but everyone that jumps into it think it's a bit faster than your usual stock r33... so i wonder........ dark.sky
wouldnt set the boost any higher than 12PSI with the stock turbo... Might be an idea to get an AFR run too. Rekin
If you are planning to run 200kw atw, then the r34 SMIC will be fine. Direct Bolt-on for r33's and cops wont have a clue its been upgraded. Throttle is also much more responsive due to no big cooler + piping to pressurize. Krishy
i have found that my FMIC does a great job in the heat compared to my old R34 SMIC.....FMIC's are legal as i have gone through regency in the past with it on.....no issues there....and its a definite if your going to be running 12psi all day every day... TALBO
Have a look at forum trader Just Jap, they do a Blitz CS FMIC which is return flow so uses mostly existing factory plumbing and they're reasonably cheap imo Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/297303-intercoolers/#findComment-4950519 Share on other sites
