You have to remember... Fast n Furious came out like 9 years ago man.....that boat has sailed (i watched it again the other day, and never realised how lame those stickers/graphics were. Especially the "toyo tyres" stickers throughout the whole body. So unless it's for the track and you have sponsors....ditch the stickers.

Back when I had an R32, I thought I was the hottest little sh*t in town, with my checkered flag graphics and Nismo stickers n stuff....Looking back they looked ugly as hell....and stupid too (unless you have something like 1000hp under the hood to back it up with). Now I have ONE vinyl decal on my rear window, but it's got nothing to do with brands etc.

As for the badges... They are thief-magnets (I dunno whether they steal them to replace their own, or just for souvenirs or what) On 3 seperate occasions on my last car, I had the badges stolen (little thieving b******s), and since they used a knife or screwdriver to tear them off, it left big ugly scratches all over the place. These were the GT badges on the sides, and the skyline "S" badge on the front.

That being said....if you own a GTR, don't take off your GTR badges! Why pay double the price for a GTR, when untrained eyes won't even be able to tell without the badges?

If you have a clean car, with a decent paint job + polish etc...looks beautiful.

^^True about the untrained eyes.

Some ppl will still think it is just a car.

Even without a spoiler, ppl might still think it is a GTS-T.

Like my R32 GTR, it does not have the rear spoiler and thought it was a GTS-T.

I see what you mean...I am loving the clean look...took my GTR for a spin from the workshop the other day...a few other Skylines lined up next to me and said...hey, is that a GTR? I'm like - nah nah, it's just a stock GTS and when they heard the roar of the twin turbos and the RB26 they were like, you lied...I was like, yeah I guess I did! lol

LOL!

You got the stealth look for sure. :)

I honestly dont understand why you would want people to think your car is a stock GTS.....but each to their own.

Uumm....to the untrained eye yes...but to people that have respect for the GTR...with or without badges... A GTR will always be a GTR...wide body stance, flared guards and the sound of the RB26DETT is enough. :)

Fair enough, but you said you told them it was a GTS, hence my point, nothing to do with untrained eyes. Also, you don't have to have untrained eyes to not quickly know the difference, there is that many GTR body kitted GTST's and GTS's around most times i can't tell from a distance till i get close and i could gaurantee most people on here would be the same. You said so yourself "a few skylines lined up next to me and said, hey is that a GTR". The gaurds isn't something you can notice till you are close, especially on dark cars (why they couldn't tell i do not know), side indicators being different is the main thing you can pick from a distance. Hell i've tried showing the difference to my girlfriend numerous times and she still doesn't really see the difference (mainly cause she doesn't care though).

However it's a stock R33 GTR though, not a Lambo, you are making it sound like something it aint, hope it aint getting to your head just cause its "a GTR" cause from that last post it sounds like it is.

Hi mate...oh did I say that...might be a misstype if I had...not going to tell people I have a GTS when it's a GTR. I don't want to make the GTR seemed 'all that' - quite the opposite actually mate...want it to look stock mainly because I am becoming a fan of the clean look and also to attract the least attention I can on the roads.

Yeah, there's a few differences alright, but I agree that most Skylines on the road wear GTR items - this is because it looks nicer, I guess...nothing wrong with that as long as there's no GTR badge. :)

easiest way to tell from a distance are the side indicators! unless they do go out of their way and change them as well haah

my car just got the gtr wing and 400r front bar no badges or stickers !

but going to put a small rear window sticker soon :) like in the corner

    • I don't understand how this hasn't boiled down to - Upgrade the turbo when you have everything required. ECU, injectors, fuel pump, turbo, etc. Do it all at once.  If you don't have everything required, just enjoy the car as it is and keep saving up your pennies.
    • Sounds like you've got an interesting adventure ahead here with local support if you have trouble! My guess is that, unboosted, you will be OK with a small upgrade like -9. What will happen is that once the stock ECU sees more airflow than it expects it will add a heap of fuel and pull a heap of timing to be safe because it can't understand how it could get that much air without there being an issue. You will see clouds of black smoke and it won't pull hard through the midrange and top end. So, overall it will be a bit frustrating but should be OK. If you are still nervous set the base timing back 2o through the CAS, but it will be even more sluggish everywhere. As said above through...this is not my guarantee your engine won't be blown into a million pieces, leaving you looking for very hard to find parts A better idea is get a computer with logging ASAP, wire in a wide band O2 sensor and a use remote tuner. I've done multiple cars this way and while it is not as good as a specific tune on a dyno they can get it 90% right. I'd suggest if you can afford an R33 GTR these days you can afford an ECU and tune. And if you can't afford that you sure won't be able to afford the rebuild if it goes bad in the meantime,.
    • Yeah it would be nice if someone took the time to put that sort of information together, but there are a lot of variations in looms. I think you are making this way hard for yourself if you just want to get it running....sourcing an SR20 with the right wiring will be a billion times easier than matching the RB loom to an S15 chassis. If you do end up going this way, you just need to trace every wire in the loom with a multimeter, 95% of them will go to a location you can confirm at the ECU.....and then post it up for the next person who needs it
    • Just top it up with water, and keep a general idea of how much you added. It is normal for water to be pushed into and pulled out of the reservoir through the cap, and it should not be more than half full or it will be likely to overflow when hot. Any decent mechanic can do a pressure test of the cooling system to confirm if you have a leak. Keep in mind if it is only leaking a little and when hot it may well evaporate before you see it hit the ground
    • I'd ask the shop what they used and use that. Mixing coolants is sometimes OK, sometimes not, and you have know the details of each coolant to know whether it's a good idea or not.
