measure them, unless they are 296 x 32mm then they aren't GTR. R33 GTS-t's are the same diameter but 30mm. The regency inspectors will know the difference.

Oh and by the way the quote for the engineers report mentioned in that statement was $2500

Whats the go with buying an interstate vehicle and registering it in SA these days - Vin/Engine number check and a quick look for visible defects or a complete full top down inspection as if it was a defect?

wow - a massive eucalypt branch came down a metre away from me.

about to pop the bonnet, instead sat in the car while the tonne branch came down on top of the bonnet

'

argh - dent on drivers side front guard, however the fake carbon stripe took it pretty well, only cple scratches

but grrrr dent. double grrr. nice 'n deep

:D

wait a minute, why did he sell for $6500 when the conversion just cost him $11000?

wife said, with 11month old in tow, 'that car must go'

he obeyed. I bought. my missus is still angry. she clapped the tree :D

If she makes you sell it I may be interested in buying it :D

yeah its a top car; will keep that in mind.

damned tree tho. seriously, how unlucky is that. massive branch.....

i know of someone that did a neo conversion into a 32 GTST and they made them put neo brakes on the car.

Don't be surprised if you have to do a brake upgrade to have it road registered.

just ask for a statement of requirements and that will list everything needed.

You will need GTR brakes as a minimum.

Yep, I just got this letter for my RB25>R32

It has 17 conditions on it, but the main ones are it has to be stock, have 296x30 front brakes and have an emmissions test.

AWD can be fun but RWD is where it's at!

I can run my car in both and 4WD is a f*kton better than RWD. RWD = wheel spin/limiter bashing at full boost in 1st & 2nd which = slow and gay, 4WD = over 300kw of traction and that throws you back in the seat like a mofo :) No way in hell i would ever trade mine for a 300kw GTST.

Should just need a brake upgrade and emisions test to pass regency, no engineers needed! I know cos i have actually had my car passed through regency with a 26 conversion.

Same here, AWD FTW :)

    • For race cars, this is one part where I find having the roll cage bar having gone through a hole in the floor better than the build it up on a ledge inside... The Merc I help on, the main hoop ends are marked on the car, and the jack is marked... Jack goes under a few inches and lifts one whole side of the car up... Removes that fight for long slim jacks for race car duties!   My biggest issue for the daily drivers I work on, is my jacks don't go high enough. The jacks start out on a few blocks, jack it up, then start a second jack under it on more blocks, and then I can get an axle stand under it. My axle stands are presently in use, and are nearly fully extended. The car is sitting with barely more than a cm of clearance to get the wheel off the studs! Sarah's Kluger is the same, as it has an ungodly amount of droop available in the suspension and a distinct lack of good jacking points!
    • Happy? Yep, my to do list is getting shorter and shorter. Either this light approaching is the end of the tunnel, or I'm about to be hit by a train... Ha ha ha   Also, Duncan isn't that far out of town that you need to make a multi day drive out of it. 😛
    • Sorry I meant that we are building the EH for a client.

    • I have more than enough digging, laying blocks, moving gravel, airrating, feeding and top soiling the grass, and setting up the veggie gardens growing some seedlings,  and then removing all the unused rock to keep me busy for the next few months at least,  hopefully the rain stops soon so I can get a few hours in this arvo, but, before that Sunday is washing day, is every body happy, you bet your life we are Nice country road day drives are a day off whenever I'm muscle sore from all the landscaping at the moment, but, more epic multiple day drives will start once the majority of the big jobs outside are completed
