Entries for the 2010 Domestic VS Import dyno day are now open!

http://www.toyotacarclub.net/events/domvsimp/

This is a Domestic vs. Import dyno competition.

We have limited entries to 48; 24 Domestic and 24 Imports - then using the top 20 scores from each side to decide the winner.

Big V8 Holdens, XR6 Turbo Fords vs. the masters of boost; Toyota Supras, Nissan Skylines and Mazda’s best rotaries.

We will be only accepting the top 20 entries from each side and I'm sure it'll be worth watching as some of the highest powered cars from both sides compete for overall honors as they all try to prove the age old question; who is king?

The cost of the event is $30, this is to cover the dyno; the event is not for profit. (We are hosting it because it's cool, no other reason)

Please apply at; (even if you *think* you dont make enough power, we will let you know if do; no cost until accepted)

This event is also one of the first events to be held at the new Boostworx workshop, so check the address before heading down there!

about time he moved ;) and closer to me now shweet

no worried from police now its full industrial :D no nieghbours

>>google maps street view<<

interesting that they've decided to move within walking distance to road and track dyno (who have my loyalty)

Will be a decent day in either case, provided they get the numbers (which Im sure it'll sell out quickly)

-D

EDIT - I'd hardly call it devoid of police interest steve, half of thomas st is owned by the hells angels, and there was a man shot in the head 3 weeks ago which amounted with thomas st blocked off for two days... there are police all over that location even without murders

this is a good way to pay off a new dyno :P

if my exhaust leaks are fixed and car is tuned by then i will put my gtir on... is it a awd dyno or is this rwd only? i will pay now to secure spot aswell

We're about half full (both sides) but we have a very high standard.

Please apply; even if you don't make 10 zillion kw. There is no cost if your entry does not make the cut, and $30 is a cheap dyno!

Not long now, just over 1 Month to go...

    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.

    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
