I was browsing through the various forums and things on the e-manage and appart from it having rave reviews, even from dumb ass yanks, I encountered what I thought was a file of actual screen shots from the software.

I thought 5odd meg was quite alot of screenshots to have in a zip file and after downloading the file I found that I had just aquired the full version of the software!

I don't own the e-manage (yet) so its not of any real use, but what a great peice of hardware that thing is for the money. The software alludes to the real power of the package. For anyone thinking about a new ECU, go check out what this thing does its great!:D

Where did you download the software from??   A couple of mates have them installed and might be interested in the software for their laptops

I was looking this morning and the site has removed the link, I still have the software so I will transfer it to cd tomorrow. What sort of results did they get with their e-manage running in AFC mode?

Rev,

Not sure about the AFC mode thing, but both guys have 180sx's with SR20DET's, one has a GT25 and the other has a GT30 turbo, both have upgraded fuel pumps, FMIC, full zorst, the usual stuff. The GT25 now has 275rwhp with the emanage and the GT30 has around the 320rwhp.. Both has stock internals too...

I was thinking about going the emanage, install and tuned for around $1,200, but I'm leaning towards a Power FC with H/C for $1,450..

well my mate has simmilar program.

YES YES you SMOKE IT (I mean read it) then PASS IT on!!!

cheers

Joe

Ok:rolleyes:

Yes its a real program to go with the e-manage piggyback ecu. Upgrades the $405 e-manage AFC functions to full 3D timing/fuel map, with real time data logging tuneable through a PC. With more options than you can poke a stick at.

The link is down but I have put the program on a CD

Hopefully my e-manage will be fitted this week or next.

I've got the full options but have had to wait for the software to arrive in aus.

Unfortunately you need more than just the software to realise the full potential. There is a special cable to connect to your laptop. It looks like a std type of connection but isn't.

Will let you know how it goes.

PFC was my first preference but they're not available for autos

Cheers

Chris

The cable isn't a problem to make if you have an original to work from (given the emanage case does not have a standard 9pin serial connection). If the interface on the e-manage is a serial 9pin as well its going to be a null-modem serial (not the normal kind) but one you can purchase from a computer store ready made. Haltech use this kind of connection on their ECU's.

    • I've looked up the parts number (41011AL501). It's around $700 OEM. Usually our Infiniti G35 here in Canada have interchangeable parts with my Stagea but the parts number are not the same. I have looked around and it seems the JDM 2005 V35 Skyline (which is the same as our G35) has the same caliper but I cannot confirm. And I can't find a repair kit. The inner brake pads drags on the rotor, seems to be rusty piston. Thanks for the info by the way
    • This coupled with 6-9 speed autos with ridiculously short gearing is why these modern shitbox cars always seem so fast off the line. If it wasn't for those things, Raptors would not seem fast. The problem we have is there is a driveability gap between a more gentle take off and a wheelspinning sideways launch. The difference between ankle flex required to achieve one and ankle flex required to achieve the other is about 0.5°.
    • Yeah I think I'm also with the opposite here. It's 'hard to keep up with traffic' because in the real world I'm accelerating with 15% throttle and they are pinning it. It feels like I'm being an overt dickhead at anything above 15% throttle, so the car sounds like I'm being an overt dickhead to keep up with/get ahead of traffic when I'm really just trying to drive with traffic. There would be no issue 'keeping up with traffic' if we used the same level of throttle input/aggression to drive around. People really do just drive around with their foot nearly pinned in econoboxes.
    • To be fair it's the other way around. 300kw is boring in a modern Golf or BMW. They are so competent / well-engineered / devoid of emotion that you have to go stupid fast to feel anything. Whereas the <300kw RB still makes all the right noises and it feels good to drive. Can pull off at the lights with the turbo whooshing and the blow-off pssshing and feel like the coolest kid on the block. Just don't look to the side where you'll see the bored housewifes in their shitbox Yaris/Corolla/Camry that kept up because you didn't go fast at all
    • 300kW is so boring in a Skyline, you'll get spanked by someone's mum's Golf with Alibaba pipes, and an email tune.
